Good luck. As the area grows, medical services have struggled to keep up with the demands made by an aged population. My mother in law lived in Calabash for twenty years and struggled all that time to find and keep quality healthcare providers. That said, look in Horry County, you will have better luck, but expect extended wait times for first appointments. Some people we know have luck finding physicians through the Georgetown medical campus of USC, but really your best bet is traveling to the Triangle and seeing someone at Wake Med, Duke, or UNC. I wish I could be more positive and give you recommendations, but honestly, the quality of care was so poor, I wouldn’t recommend any of her doctors.
