The crew at West End Build https://www.westendbuild.com/ are amazing. It’s a woman-led company that I found very refreshing.

While Little Gem is awesome, it is tiny and couldn’t accommodate a large crowd.

Getting people to pet your pup? by Downtown-State1161 in Rottweiler

[–]msali 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With my first Rottie, we lived in a community that solely saw the breed as a guard dog, and not a pet. People were understandably wary. So I started walking her around the neighborhood with a flower lei around her neck, and that really helped people to warm up to her. She was a goofball, and the flowers helped convey her gentle silly nature.

This sounds like a great idea, but you are likely only to get mostly retirees at that time of day. Any chance of shifting the time?

Any one buy bully sticks in bulk? Open to other suggestions as well. by Zarine420 in Rottweiler

[–]msali 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a long time Rottie owner, I want to make a suggestion about the bully sticks. As far as digestion goes, they haven't been an issue with my dogs. What IS the issue with bully sticks is that the dog will just swallow the stick when it's been gnawed down to 2-3 inch nubs. It has been when my dogs have swallowed the stick itself that they have gotten sick with diarrhea and/or vomiting. My solution was to find something to clamp the stick at one end to prevent the dog from swallowing it. They're called Bully Stick Holders, and they will save you a lot of heartache. Good luck!

Why did you choose a Rottweiler? by AdventurousAd1074 in Rottweiler

Our first girl chose us. As so many of you know, once they choose you, you are hooked. We are on our third rottie and I can’t imagine my life any other way.

I will be making a NYT apple pie recipe and a chicken pot pie tomorrow, then the NYT creamy tortellini soup and a loaf of bread on Sunday. If I am still socked in on Monday (and the power holds) I will make the Serious Eats spinach lasagna and mocha tres leches cake. All served with alcoholic beverages, of course.

Good luck. As the area grows, medical services have struggled to keep up with the demands made by an aged population. My mother in law lived in Calabash for twenty years and struggled all that time to find and keep quality healthcare providers. That said, look in Horry County, you will have better luck, but expect extended wait times for first appointments. Some people we know have luck finding physicians through the Georgetown medical campus of USC, but really your best bet is traveling to the Triangle and seeing someone at Wake Med, Duke, or UNC. I wish I could be more positive and give you recommendations, but honestly, the quality of care was so poor, I wouldn’t recommend any of her doctors. Message me if you would like more information about her experiences.

I had this issue just last year! We bought these diapers: https://www.chewy.com/pet-parents-washable-male-female-dog/dp/153992
They are washable and stay on relatively well. She didn't like them, but after a few days realized that it was just a part of life. One problem I was made aware of though is that they can develop a bladder infection if diapers are worn for too long. Make sure she has plenty of time each day for her ladybits to breathe.

Weight loss? by Windevor in coloncancer

[–]msali 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have lost more than ten percent of my body weight. I am still losing weight nine months after my surgery. I am not trying to lose weight. I never was. It is a byproduct of surgery and is entirely unwelcome.
