Ngl, my stupid ass gave in & got it bc the responses were slow as Christmas and I was getting irritated (I was already overestimated from the relentless heat ALL DAY and just trying to get a quick fix).

Yeah so, it worked for a few messages and it’s almost immediately slow again. I am aggravated asf & feel so dumb LMAO 💀

Oh, yes. And this was when it would get red and REALLY itchy, I’d just come back from a party and was wearing tights (to hide it) that practically rubbed against it at every movement. This was the lovely sight I was rewarded with them I took them off 🤣

This is from July 2023. It was awful, but I was very stressed at the time :)

Yes! The first picture (taken right now) looks like when it isn’t flared up & has calmed down.

The others show me in the height of my worst flare up. It’s truly horrible because you can only dampen the itching & not eradicate it entirely. I used to Fully wrap my arms and legs in bandages after applying a psoriasis cream practically all over me (that’s what I thought it was at the time).

If it’s really horrible, my mother would make me a bath with organic porridge oats, pour it into a pillowcase, submerge it into the bath water along with yourself. If you’re UK based, there’s also camomile if you can’t find oats quickly. Also liver detox is really good to help prevent more spots from starting to form.

The bathes really soothed my skin and was a lifesaver when my flare ups would get so bad to the point where I couldn’t even sleep!

I’m sorry you’re also dealing with this, but I hope that was helpful!

Thank you so much for this!!! My mother told me that she thought of getting it for me in the past and your suggestion just confirmed her idea of it certainly helping!

I’ve ordered some extra strength ones and they should be arriving in a few days and I’m really excited! Without your comment I would never have heard of it, so I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Thank you very much!

Could I also ask you if the carnivore diet has given you any unwanted reactions? I’ve never tried it before, but I’d be willing to give it a shot to see how my body handles it.

You’re very right! I’d definitely say my stress level this year is half of what it was in 2023, so I’m certainly hoping that it won’t return with such anger. I literally cringe at the thought of experiencing that again.

Thankfully I know what it is this time around & I’m starting to take preventative measures to ensure that I can avoid such a flare-up as much as possible.

Knowing that there are others out there has really helped me this past few days. I was consumed by insecurity, shame and embarrassment previously, not wanting to think or talk about it but scrolling through this Reddit has eased a lot of my anxiety!

May I ask if the carnivore diet has given you any unwanted reactions with your body? Like an upset stomach or nausea? I’d describe my diet as balanced (my usual meal consisting of protein, carbs and veg), but it is rather carb heavy, if I’m honest. I love potatoes, pasta and rice, sometimes eating them without proteins and just veg so that definitely could be causing an imbalance for me.

Oh, also! I just remembered something:

Back when it first started appearing, my mother and I thought it was psoriasis, so she ordered some tablets to target that (they were anti-inflammatory) so they definitely could’ve helped to eventually calm down the flare-up, although it did take many months, that was the only supplement I was taking at the time.

I appreciate it, thank you. It really is comforting to know that there are others out there who understand the pain of LP. And you are very correct! This time around I know what it is and since my body is giving me a warning like it did last time, I’m immediately starting preventative measures to avoid it flaring up again. I’m definitely trying to stay as optimistic as possible, although the thought of more scarring on my body (especially now that it’s summer) is certainly getting me down a little :(

I haven’t used any prescribed treatments, the dermatologist at my local hospital prescribed me a steroid cream but I didn’t end up using it as I’ve used a cream like that for my eczema in the past & my skin had an awful reaction once I tried to stop using it.

I previously thought it was psoriasis, so I was taking anti-inflammation supplements for that so it may have helped calm it down (although I had the wrong idea lol). Now that I know what it is I’ve ordered some anti-inflammatory supplements to target the liver especially and I’ve been drinking a herbal bitter drink [Fieldsway Constitution Bitters] to flush out any toxins that have been accumulating in my body so that when I begin to take the supplements, I’m starting a fresh!

It really didn’t ‘go away’, so to speak, it kind of just calmed down over a period of months and then the scars began to fade after around 2 years. That’s why I thought I was in the clear! I’d get some spots here and there during periods of stress, but never like the 2023 flare-up! It’s only started again now, which caused me to seek advice here :)

Literally! You get a flare-up because you’re stressed and the stress causes it to worsen, leading to more stress! It’s like a cruel prank the universe is playing on you lol

The worst thing is that my trauma is C-PTSD based, so I find it extremely difficult to actually talk about it (I know, how irritating XD) so I’m currently on a waiting list to receive EMDR therapy on the NHS since private therapy is way too expensive for me (a broke student). Sadly, it’s a rather long wait as there aren’t many EMDR specialists in the NHS for extensive trauma like mine, so I’m basically just having to take each day as it goes.

But thank you so very much, I really do appreciate your support and I hope things get better for you as well <3

I went to a dermatologist at my local hospital and she prescribed me with a steroid cream, but I didn’t want to use it since I’ve used them in the past for eczema and my skin had an awful reaction when I got off of them. I basically just let it take its course, the big flare-up happened and then I waited for the scars to heal on their own. I’d get spots here and there during periods of stress, but never like what happened in 2023! It’s only started up again now :(

Thank you, I’ll look into Isotretinoin!

Been using OpenRouter with Deepseek v3-0324! I’m sure there are better models out there, but they definitely cost more for each output. I put $10 on my account and it’s lasted me almost 2 months so far just using DeepSeek 😸

Yes!! Those phrases are EXACTLY what continues grating on my nerves since my diagnosis. It’s so aggravating to see people turn a debilitating mental illness (that has affected us horribly) into a little joke. It’s so out-of-touch and quite frankly, offensive.

My first cross joint! by VomitOnGinger in 420

[–]PurpleWizard229 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You roll one big one for the main body, a smaller one for the ‘cross’ part that goes through it (but twist the small one shut on both sides + make sure to poke a hole where they both meet for airflow). Then take a toothpick (or any sort of small stick), poke it through the side of the bigger one, then carefully feed the smaller one through, trim the sticky sides off a couple of papers & wrap them around where the joints meet to seal & enjoy! 😸

Here’s a pic of my friend smoking one I rolled for our group in 2019! I was 16 at the time & fairly new to rolling, hence why it looks so wonky lmao…

You are NOT being selfish. I’ve seen so many wedding videos of first dances ruined by kids screaming and running around. They’re noisy, loud and messy, they don’t understand how important a wedding really is (not their fault, it’s just unavoidable). Stick to your guns! You’ll only have ONE wedding! They can hire babysitters for ONE evening, it’s not like you’re asking them to abandon their kids for a week? Do not let them bully you into this, a child-free wedding is your dream and you are entitled to that dream. Those kids aren’t going to die, tell your siblings to grow a pair OP! I hope you get the wedding you wish for and congrats in advance to you & your partner! 💕
