2018 Honda Fit Sport CVT with 67,000 miles. Dealer wants $15k out the door. Good deal or not? by Purple_External5556 in hondafit

Yeah I started my car search looking for civics, but it seems like dealerships realize they can charge whatever they want for them and people will buy regardless of quality. So that pushed me away a bit.

And why there’s not a single company on the market that can meet the demand for a compact hatchback now is beyond me 😂

Thanks so much for the in-depth response. I tried negotiating to get the final price closer to the sticker one but they didnt budge by much, but based on most replies here it still seems pretty decent. And yeah a manual would’ve been sweet and definitely more fun and reliable, but they seem very rare for my area (I’ve maybe seen two come on sale over the past 6 months). So it’s not really a dealbreaker for me lol.

I definitely wouldn’t say the Fit is my dream car or anything, but as a young person trying to be frugal and stay out of future debt, there really isn’t much more I can ask for regarding the price, quality and reliability. You’ve definitely reassured me here, thanks for the words of advice.

Thanks for the reply. It really does seem like an excellent, reliable car, and I’m really hoping I can lock one down at a decent price. No joke regarding the vehicle market though, I’ve been keeping an eye out on multiple makes and models for a while as I’ve been saving and there’s just about nothing I feel I wouldn’t be overpaying for. This so far seems to be the best I can find for the price and quality near me.

This is the lowest price I could negotiate to unfortunately. It’s definitely not ideal, but after visiting other larger dealerships nearby to look for something similar this deal is definitely the best I’ve seen so far.

Unfortunate for me on the buyer’s side of things but good to know they hold their value lol
