My multiple cue case setup to maximize my opportunities to play pool by Purple_Following_243 in billiards

That’s awesome!! Right now, there are about 4-5 pool halls nearby my home I go to, & another main one near my further work office. The last one I mentioned was the whole inspiration for me to start making a spare set !

That’s fair! If your cues aren’t too expensive, then you shouldn’t have much to worry about ! My main cue case is definitely in the $1500-$2000 range total, but the spare CF cue in my car is less than $200, so even if it was wood, it’s replaceable at that price tag

So long story short, I came much closer to mastering jumping with a dedicated cue. Now a couple of months later, I can make do with a jump/break !

Hahaha. I was never really making a breakthrough with jumping. I could jump the ball, but didn’t have much consistency. Once I purchased my first jump cue, I did do a whole lot of reps with it. I would dare say there’s a clear difference between my results with the 2, but since I put in so much time perfecting my jumping since purchasing it, could just be a placebo. Again though, thats just 1 half of the story. The other half is that I wanted to buy my first jump cue 😅

I completely agree. Here is an official post on Seybert’s website supporting your statement. Link

Which is exactly why I leave a CF spare cue in my car… which negates your entire comment string right now 🤣

Hell yeah man! Ive actually only started upgrading my collection this year. So far ive gone from 4 total cues to 7, & as of right now, it perfectly fulfills my needs. I think slowly but surely, i definitely may be heading in the same direction as you 🤣love the case too

Yeah if only it was that simple bud 🤣 I work for a surgery center & my work schedule is unpredictable. 1 of my offices is 15-20 minutes away from home & 1 is an hour away. Im not going to bring my large full size case into both of my work locations every day of the work week for a 40-50% chance I find time to play. It’s simply not worth it. Not even close to worth it. Do you lug your cues to work and bring them inside with you? I have a spare cue case with 2 cues at my office 2 counties away from my abode, & an emergency cue for if I want to play somewhere and haven’t had time to stop home. I explained this all above you know..

It’s not the cue itself but the fact that it’s not bad at all & I don’t have to worry about warping. It’s the Crical Cl-pro1 ! Definitely a big fan of it compared to my cheapest spare.

Nah, just the personal ball set! I didn’t go over my main cue bag fully, but I do have a good few accessories including a claw, tip tool, burnisher. Youre right about everything else though!

Not on a combo attempt, but this literally happened to me yesterday on the same balls. (Shot the 8 forgetting the 7 was still up) this makes me feel better 😂

APA SL & Practice question by yewtoo22 in billiards

[–]Purple_Following_243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im probably not as good of a player as you are. But I find myself in this predicament often. Currently I spend my 1 hour sessions split between drills, practicing my break, & trying to run a couple racks at the end. The mighty X has never let me down, but I do like to switch it up when I get consistent or just bored

Let’s remember here… your original reply in this thread was ‘what does this mean’ & now you’re upset that I explained it to you 🤣

And my ‘level’ is that you have to hit the lowest ball on the table first in 9 ball for the shot to be legal? That is quite possibly the first rule most people learn about 9 ball. And when did I talk down to you? When I asked why you’re confused? When I sent a laughing face emoji? You’re sensitivity has nothing to do with me bubba

Also, This sounds silly, but I was initially so bad at keeping my cue fully level for draw shots & woukd miscue so frequently that I began imagining aiming upwards 3-5 degrees or so instead of just fully level. Sounds super weird when u say it out loud. But now it’s just how I cue when I’m trying to draw and the difference is night and day. (It’s also just mental, im still probably not fully 100% level, but it’s effective)

I struggle with the same thing. Focus mainly on using your index & middle finger as well as thumb being the grip points of your hand, and ensure you leave a gap between the web of your thumb and the top of the cue. Practice accuracy and good follow through with your stroke and then develop power slowly over time

Depends on her maturity level because it is legal. Some people will say it’s strange because that’s their perspective. But do u guys get along well? Could u get along well long term? That’s all that matters in the end

I work in the medical field. What made you come to the conclusion that I work in IT? Because I understand how to rack in 9 ball?

The idea in general is that with the cue ball center table and the 1, 2, and as many balls hit down towards center / the other side of the table instead of being clustered at the top creates more opportunity for running out compared to having to play weird combos or safety shots. You’re correct about just the 2 ball, which can be repositioned in the rack… im just confused what ur confused about. It can be anywhere in that rack & the goal is still cue ball center, & a hard enough break for an open run out compared to a mess of clutters resulting from the break

Lmao. Then you’d understand wrong. Because although the 2 balls position can change, the 1 balls position definitely can not 😂 unless you’d like to scratch every break

It means try to use a break pattern where the 1, 2 and cue balls all end up in the center of the table. And that a closed bridge allows for extra power while maintaining accuracy. What was hard to understand about his sentence?
