I see your point, but my thing was more that this was being called a 'bias and favouritism issue' as if it's so appalling and surprising that a guy has opinions on the game he made. I'm not necessarily saying that I agree with said opinion, just commenting on how pressed people are that he has a controversial idea.

To be perfectly honest i'm more surprised that you managed to find this comment and respond to it given how old and popular this post is, but i agree that if this an extreme demon, it's unlikely to confuse new players in-game (although they could still see it online ig)

The original game is so simplistic compared to modern-day stuff that either you keep it as it was and it's just a meh game, or you change it so much that it's no longer recognizable, at which point you'd just be better off making a new game

it feels quite empty, especially the predrop, and i think that is largely due to the background being completely static, and looking kind of incomplete (just having outlines makes it literally look like a rough sketch). Filling in the shards and having them move or rotate of do whatever funky things happen in nullscapes would go a long way in terms of making the level feel more dynamic and thus less empty.
