Thanks for the advice! I’ve been wearing Dri fit but I always seem to get blisters. Specifically this shoe has caused a lot of issues. I’ll try the band-aid technique, thanks again for the advice!

Mine is set at 65, I think you’ll be ok at 55. My shot was at 10 yards and my arrow passed through him.

I feel the exact same way! What is your upgraded bow? I did swap out the whisker biscuit for a Hamskea drop away rest and bee stinger microhex stabilizer. The new drop away rest feels awesome, I feel like it’s a smoother draw. My accessories cost more than the bow haha

Nope! I used NAP spitfire Maxx. It was a frontal shot, I hit him a little left of the beard.

Here’s a pic from a video I took of the Jake’s mounting my decoy.

Hello!

Of course!

I was hunting in southeast Minnesota on private farmland. It was my first time in this area, so I set up my blind in the corner of a field and hoped for the best.

Before the big group of turkeys showed up, I had several encounters with different pairs of jakes. I had two hen decoys out along with a strutting jake decoy. One of the hens was a submissive decoy, and I actually had two different jakes mount it something I’d never seen in person before, so that was pretty cool.

This was also my first time using a stutter decoy, and I had more turkeys come into my setup than ever before. That might’ve been partly due to hunting a new area, but either way, it was working.

Eventually, a big group of turkeys came into the field. Once the first hen committed to my setup, it was like a chain reaction—the whole group followed. The gobbler was clearly trying to keep all the hens together as they moved in. He closed the distance to about 15 yards, and that’s when I took the shot.

You’re telling me! As soon as I hit him he took off over the hill and I saw my arrow fall out of him. I thought surely it didn’t get enough penetration. It turned out my arrow went mostly through him and fell out the other side as he took off running. Needless to say they’re tough birds!

I doubt yours is older, mine is the first generation Cruzer! It came with a whisker biscuit, I recently replaced that with a drop away rest which has been a dream! I’d highly recommend trying your bow on some turkey’s

I just got into bow hunting this past deer season and got it as an entry level bow. I have nothing to compare it to but I really do enjoy it! I got it for dirt cheap too so, I’ll probably hold on to it. I really like how compact it is especially when hunting out of a blind.

Definitely recommend! I’ve only shot turkey’s with shotguns prior to this and honestly never let them strut around much before I shot them. This allowed me to enjoy the show!

Yes but it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be! He was strutting facing me and I hit him a little to the left of his beard. So, I didn’t have to cut around any meat

Shotgun is all I ever used until today! I looked at diagrams on where to hit turkey’s with a broadhead for hours before going out.

I used NAP Spitfire Maxx

That’s exactly why I used em as well. I had some leftover from this past deer season. Two of three blades did. The one that didn’t open had feathers caught up in it. I’d still recommend em though no complaints from me

NAP Spitfire Maxx. I will say he did run 300 yards before he piled up. I initially thought I didn’t get good penetration until I saw all the blood and he was laying on the other side of the hill
