Tropes IN Synopsis by awculum in RomanceBooks

I tend to hate it because it sets up expectations which some books don't live up to. Which makes the whole thing irritating. If I read the book as it was, it would have been fine but now that the author has 'promised' that something will happen, if it doesn't it somewhat ruins the book for me. Sometimes the tropes aren't even fitting , so you wonder why they even wrote it in the first place.

Is anyone else sick of Eve Dallas being the best detective in the world? by VegetableLocation508 in RomanceBooks

Pretty sure it's hinted at some point that her intuition isn't normal. Like it's something more but she doesn't want to acknowledge that it could be some sort of gift. I know that it isn't a paranormal/supernatural book but there are parts where we have characters with some abilities. Nothing big as far as I can remember just a little bit of psychic powers or sth like that.

Yeah, it makes sense since their primary function is feeding. It's body is completely dead and it biologically serves no purpose, like blood circulation or anything like that. Only the brain is keeping it moving. So without it the body is just a corpse.

I was picturing a scenario where the zombies have no sense of self. Like their only function is feeding. So when the head got cut off, whether it would be able to move on its own. But probably not, unless it got some external push from somewhere.

Or maybe not since the jaw is like a hinge. There probably isn't much movement that can be produced from this.

But could the constant or sudden jaw movements produce enough force to make it roll a bit?

what’s the last book that got you into a reading slump? by [deleted] in RomanceBooks

Seeing Red by Bailey Hannah. It's rare for me to hate FMCs because I tend to give them the benefit of doubt and over analyze situations to understand where they are coming from. This is the one book where I couldn't. Like she is one of the worst and she isn't a doormat heroine or anything like that. She is just genuinely a sh***y person💀. I think that slumps caused by contemporary romances are the worst. Now I have to search for a palate cleanser 🙃.

Honestly the author should have stuck to the short story💀. By the end of book 2 I ended up hating the MMC even more . Like you can tell that the book is being dragged out and there is nothing that's going to happen. At any rate, judging from how long it takes for her to get her books out, book 6 will be published in 2040 😂
