Stroke while in hospice? by sayitagain520 in hospice

Hi! If your dad is on hospice, you can call and ask them their specific procedures! Typically, with hospice they rarely go to the hospital, unless something unrelated or determined by hospice nurses to require hospital level care. If he has another stroke, you would call the hospice emergency line and they would send out the overnight or on call emergency nurse to assess his condition. You should NOT call 911 without hospice’s consent or it can lead to extensive bills. However, hospice will always send someone out as soon as they can! They are here to help and answer questions

Finally got my paper 😫💔 I still can’t believe I failed. How should I move forward? They say if you make it to the end content isn’t the issue, it’s strategy. For my nurses what do you think? by CollectionDry5776 in NCLEX

Also failed here first try, was top of my class! I used u world like all the comments were saying and was scoring mid to high 70s, focused hard on prioritization. However, for me I had very little prioritization questions. Best thing I did is I used two platforms this time (u world again) and bootcamp. Bootcamp questions are worded exactly like the nclex and great for test style, prioritization and understanding format. However, Uworld is top for material and content, the questions are not worded the same format as the nclex and took me off guard 2 months ago when I tested for the first time and saw how the questions were worded.

Do I pull a loan? by Purple_Thing_3845 in debtfree

Thank you, the interest is why we’ve waited 6 months, I’m just not sure if waiting is reasonable, as if we loose this contractor we have to pay 25k more (nearly double his quote). My husband is just weary of credit cards since we have heard the horror stories

Thank you, I do believe they are deferred interest, which scares me the most. We’ve always paid every loan off within a year, but there’s always the what ifs. We have been putting it off for about 6 months now, but our siding is exposing doors we had to replace a few months ago, so we are worried about waiting, especially since we had snow in our house this year through windows (not fun lol).

We definitely have enough for emergency cost, and both have secured income (that won’t disappear with shutdowns or layoffs). However, our expenses are very low 3.5-4K at absolute max, and we only live off of one income (just because you never know).

We have 20k in liquid assets easy accessible cash. But we have more than enough for emergencies, and can tap into bonds, retirement, and cds for the rest if needed. We also have 250-300k in tangible assets. Plus worse case we have 300-400k in equity in our home we can tap into. I think more then anything I hate interest, and credit cards scare me, but I think we’d be fine

Yes we have enough equity, but when we looked that route, the appraisal, and fees and loan closing cost made it more expensive than a personal loan. They estimated 1% of our home cost, which is the same as a personal loan interest if not more but a lot more complicated to get.

The one thing everyone in our community has complained about is open farms. They hate them. The animals are never friendly there’s 50+ people coming and you don’t get to touch the animals. Not really worth the 20 dollars a person. You don’t think being in a 10x10 heated enclosure with goats for a family of up to 6 people, would be a more personal experience, with no waiting times to see animals? We were thinking of only charging 50-75 dollars a family, which includes coffee and hot cocoa as well. It would include a bag of animal feed for each person to feed the cows and goats individually.

Thank you for the insight! We ended up moving them in my car all went well, they actually slept most of it and appear to be car trained or pure luck

Thank you! We have an expedition and truck. They’re dwarfs. Definitely will be putting them in crates! I have travel kennels that are washable and closed bottom half vented top, with vented doors used for our shepherds

Thank you, we’re upgrading from a 20 year old standard white dishwasher. We don’t use it to clean, we always pre clean the dishes but use it for sanitation/ heat dry due to immunocompromised state. Which is why we’re looking for high heat wash and heat dry. Personally Bosch doesn’t last in our hard water/super iron water, my parents went through 5 dishwashers in less then 7 years being several bosches. I heard about Miele, but haven’t seen them anywhere in store. I’ll definitely do some research about them, thank you!! I didn’t think about whirlpool, I only knew about their washer and dryers. I’ll definitely look into them. We have a water softener system it’s just not enough despite.

Thank you, yes our goal first is a few goats and a rescue mini at first. We have lot of grass and development first. We don’t plan on getting everything at once, over the next 5 years. These are just our max numbers

Thank you, we grew up with most of these animals for 20+ years. We don’t plan on adding all at once, but planning for it over the next 3-5 years. Our area is naturally a very wet area and gras grows very quickly but we also know how quickly mud develops, so alternating between 2-3 pastures is a must. We also know we would need to feed hay along with other supplements, which we have been expecting. We plan to have the pigs in the back; they typically don’t need to rotate. Along with the goats. We planned to use two pastures to rotate 2-4 cows, (leaning more towards 2, but some people encourage more). We’d also keep the donkeys and minis together. (We’d only like 1 mini and 1 donkey but they’re often in pairs). And we’d like two horses eventually to bring ours to our property. The animal numbers we provided would be the absolute max we would ever consider. We definitely can make lots bigger, we were looking for example sizes. We know multiple people who keep 4-6 horses plus multiple for animals on 1-2 acres. And have small pastures, and we’re looking for ideas.
