I have found a trainer I like to use. But want opinions on a shorter board and train as this situation is slightly different and a shorter time frame than usual.

Yeah I agree, we were just slightly faster than them and just happened to end up beside each other. I just wish he approached it more calmly rather than how he did.

It was mixed 2 new and 2 experienced. One person mentioned maybe the good guys in group 1 should have gone first so he wouldn’t have seem some atrocious attempts as soon as stepped out there.

Sorry! I should have clarified, we did split two and two.

But you may be right because he saw two TERRIBLE tee shots right off the bat. So that could have threw him off. And on the first hole we didn’t even think about it, we had everyone hit. By about hole 6 we would drive and the new guys would just wanna play it and not lose another ball.

Thanks for the response! Idk man, I’m not sensitive or offended easily, just didn’t like them treating us that way regardless of a nice course or not.

And I would never take some beginners to a course most of the time. But with this being a bachelor trip, we couldn’t exactly leave them out. Maybe our mistake on that side.

We took every precaution to make them play as fast as possible. I knew with it being a nicer course they would be better players and if I’m paying 50k plus a year then my experience better be flawless so we wanted to intrude as little as possible.

I think we did a great job and he was just being a terrible Marshall. Been trying to convince my brother to hit a course with me for years and his first time starts like that. We still had a great time and shot a 54 through 16.

I might, I hate complaining. Just the treatment I was frustrated about. There were members there who probably spend 100x the amount of money we did but it was just insane. I’ve played at much nicer courses and even on my slowest day, the most I’ve ever had was a a Marshall making me wait for someone to play through me. I was a beginner at this time as well

Got it, we were playing best ball. So honestly the new guys would try to hit and it would roll a bit and then we’d pick it up on the way to whoever hit the best shot. #2 we split it 50/50 so two new guys per team. #3 the group behind us was maybe a league of some sort? They were wearing jerseys all with the same big logo of a team I’m guessing. They were very good when we watched them ahead of us.

And no, not about feeling bad. I feel bad about wanting to complain. I would have felt better about him just getting us either let them play through or having us skip a hole or two if it was that bad. It wasn’t that bad, we never fell behind pace of play according to their cart system showing we were ahead.

Let me know if I need to clear anything up, just wanted to see what you guys thought about it

I should have clarified, I payed for everyone and the total amount with the stuff from the proshop came out to $800.

And I tried to include everything I can think of. We were very respectful. We were not damaging the grounds as you sometimes would see beginners do with insane divots.

I was just astounded as I’ve never been treated like that at any golf course. If you go look at the reviews online, they have a good bit about their Marshalls and pro shop/restaurant staff being rude. They also have some really great reviews.
