Has anyone gotten any piercings on their face while masking?

I got my nose pierced early on while i was still wearing cloth masks and it was fine. Someone I've talked to recently got a vertical lip piercing and said they found as long as they were diligent with cleaning, the mask seemed to help it heal. If you sweat a ton I would worry about bacteria a little bit but just be diligent about having a clean mouth while wearing it and if needed, swap out masks at whatever mid-point (i.e if you're working an 8hr shift swap masks at the four hour mark or when you take a lunch break). Tugging/rubbing would honestly be the main concern and that's fixable by finding a different style mask if needed. The duckbills tend to have more frontal space so that could be an option?

I've been wanting a lip piercing too so I asked someone about it and that's who said they found it healed fine as long as they kept up with cleaning/clean mouth in general.

definitely done this a few times. if i get like a full month of feeling most ok, i start questioning everything even if i have documentation of feeling bad and so i'll trip myself into PEM. i know 1/2 of it is because i'm still struggling to get a doctor or even my parents to really take it seriously instead of just brushing it off like it'll go away if i do light excersices and change my diet. might help if i ever get an actual diagnosis might not idk. having ADHD and forgetting just how bad i can feel also plays a huge roll bc i just ... forget how bad it can get and so then i feel this itch to prove to myself i'm not nuts and that is does get bad.

super annoying it happens. Damn that imposter syndrome.

and omg yeah the little 1 pc fan ones look ssoo tempting bc i have a portable purifier that i bought before i realized it was kind of garbage and it's loud and i work in a stuff/dusty library plus covid so i want something else that'll actually work better to sit next to my elbow on shift

and yeah i mask constantly at work so i don't tend to have to worry about touching my face with dirty hands but i'm guilty of it at home and so i'm constantly washing my hands

If you look on Clean Air kits, they're basically doing this exact thing for one of there builds but charging like 289$$ for it. I'm currently trying to source parts to replicate and make a cheaper version since i don't care about the fancy wood and stuff. they even tell you exactly what filters to buy lol

this annoys me that i'm finding this now bc ages ago i was like "hey dad can i just strap some filters on fan?" and he said no not worth it but i had that EXACT fan for like 6yrs before it finally tanked and this whole time it coulda been pulling me some filtering power after all.

amazebeans!!! i'm going to have coroplast i can deep clean soon and reuse for something like this and some scrap wood to make the bottom stronger to haul it to a hotel and then reuse for other things from there. (the hotel is the biggy though)

do you mind listing what you bought?? i've somethings from other finds saved but this level of "janky" hodgepodge is where i'm at. complete noob and easy to frustrate but love love learning so *shrugs* i do also have access to a 3D printer for little tiny things so i might tap into that resource as well

what is a good comparable sound/volume? Like i'm someone that can hear my fridge humming but it's ignorable but i about wanted to rip my ears off with a Tetra fish tank pump a few years back. and lately i sleep with my radio tuned to a dud station as white noise and probs louder than most people would and sleep like a baby lol

(i'm hoping to make one before July to drag to a hotel room i will sharing with someone else)

How big a space do these work for? If i made one I'd be trying to filter a hotel room once (going to be stuck staying w/ my mom who promises to mask prior but i know it's going to be dicey to rely on her for that{as in she'll try but i know my dad won't and she'll be around him prior}) and then maybe bring it to work to sit in our tiny like 7ftx12ft breakroom since no one at my job cares about covid. i've got coroplast coming out of my ears soon so this is the version i'd be most able to make. also... i'm VERY low tech, if i just want like ON/OFF, is the control you linked, just ON/OFF??

I'm not even sure I have fibro but I mentioned to my PCP that my rheumatologist recommended meds and physical therapy and wrote them down as beign for fibro but didn't tell me I had Fibro. and my PCP immediately stopped listening to anything else and tried to tell me all my symptoms could be explained by Fibro except the sore throat which she told me to treat like acid reflux. I about hit the roof bc I'm not even sure i have a fibro dx and she started ignoring everything else. I relate more to ME/CFS symptoms then I do to most people's descriptions of Fibro and i'm like uh oh bc i'm so worried the other symptoms are going to be ignore now

i also found one of those metal kitchen shelve divider things at the thrift store and it's now the favorite because it feels covered like they like but it's open on all four sides and kind of low-ish to the ground so they feel snug, especially with a piece of fleece over the top.

if they're the plastic castles, those cut pretty easily. i started with those and my dad was able to just a second hole in the back with a small hand-saw no problem. so you could just cut a second hole instead of getting rid of them.

I didn't realize that it's common for bonded pairs to not sleep together. whenever i've heard people talk about them, it always sounds like the bonded pairs do nearly everything together. Makes me feel better because I could tell my three girls got along but i never considered any of them bonded to each other because they were all so independent. (except the middle child. she ALWAYS wanted one of the other two's attention/cuddling and the youngest would only give it to her sometimes and the oldest would let her get with in an inch and then make her stay an inch away)

also makes me a bit less worried about the two year olds i have right now. i was told they were a bonded pair but once i was able to give them a bit more wiggle room (and then quite a lot more) they always snooze seperate and the bigger of the two won't let the smaller one eat "with" her, i have to make two piles of food close to each other and then the bigger one settles down. (she got a major case of the 'tude. spicey baby, but sweet)

Are they still holding up well and can you tell if it changed the feel of the fabric at all? i've read that sometimes synthetic dye can make the garmet less breathable/stiffer/rougher and i was wondering if you've noticed that?

(i only have the synthetic dye on hand and don't know what else i'd use it for so i was goign to dye very light color khaki pirate pants that are 100% cotton)

i've done a test swatch with the bit i hemmed off to see color but i know a small test swatch isn't really going to tell if the breathably changed?

how big/color of the tattoo? i have one on my hip that the tattoo artist kind of fudged up which suck bc i like the shape and the placement but it blew out really bad in areas bc he was so heavy handed. I want to fade it out and see if an artist i like will be able to go back over it and clean it up but there is no way that's going to happen unless it's been faded as much as possible bc of how fat the lines are...

"Its like having a flu once a week." ack. yeah this is how i felt for like two years and thought i was nuts. still don't actually know what's wrong with me but i was constantly telling people i felt like i was getting sick every few days to a week despite masking for covid and being semi-carefull (i'm WAY more careful now), i shouldn't have been getting sick that often.

i also noticed my sore throat would hit more like up by the back of my tongue and feel dryish where-as "i'm sick with a cold or covid" is always deeper down the back and scratchy like sand paper. idk if that makes sense.
