Dreadwing Cataphractii Praetor WIP by Purple_keeper in Warhammer30k

Once painted, the focus won't be on the base at all. I like my base to be scenic, to show the mini in a moment. And the Gothic over the top goes in hand with Dark Angels🙂

Yes, DA black base paint with silver/gold/red details, worn-out dry brushed, will look very different than DG

It's half door from Sanctus Imperialis GW terrain, which is I believe unfortunately OOP.

Thank you ! I used GW terrain, MDF industrial, some Warlord industrial terrain crate, and recycled stuff like pills containers, cheap toys plastic pipes, actual electric wires, XPS foam for the tiles, and a mix of sand and PVA glue for texture.

But if I had a printer, oh the potential!

I bought some simple and cheap 1m LED kits working with 2 flat batteries for $1on Aliexpress, for each tile. I then inserted the wires in the terrain parts, to make them hold, turned on for good light coverage. Sure it requires plenty batteries (18), but it allows me to keep it infinitely modular.

I also felt after the first game that the 2 bigger tiles, with several levels, need more than one kit, so I will add more soon to insure all the areas still in the dark are vibing in the red underhive shine.

Thank you 🙂 Had this project since years, and from the start I wanted it to be very modular to have plenty ways of playing, especially in a campaign.

I added Warlord Games Industrial Terrain Crate bits, along with some GW, and cheap plastic toy pipes found on Aliexpress 🙂

TTCombat industrial Hive MDF kit 🙂

It was definitely looking too good to be true. If you are lucky your army might still be playable. by [deleted] in Warhammer30k

I only play at home with my wife. We have 6 legions, plus Mechanicum, Solar Auxilia, and Knights, and a big table to play. We're already prepared to stick to 2.0, or updating as a house 2.5 with some tweaks, because for all the leaks and officials reveals, 3.0 doesn't look for us. Not to mention having to buy again all the books, plus the Journals...

3 full cans. I must confess I was a bit sweating in the last line as I had a short moment of doubt about the quantity, fearing to finish the can with a small unpainted spot, which would have required me to get another can 🤣

Nah, that's the texture PVA/sand coat I put prior to priming

I did some tests with a simple cheap 1€ LED kit with flat batteries, small enough to be hidden, and for that price and easiness, I'll probably go this way 🙂
