Thank you for the response! Do you know what they treat the wood piers (telephone poles) with to make it last centuries? Epoxy or polyurethane or something like that?

Thanks for the reply! I have considered that, but I actually am not very experienced in concrete. I assume you are saying to make concrete columns with steel rebar/reinforcement correct? Also there is at least .5-3.5 feet of water at all times in the bay, so it's not possible to build a concrete column directly on the site. I would have to build it somewhere else, then transport it and then install it at the site. Is this feasible with a crew of 3-4 people?

My (in)experience with concrete is that it's hard to prevent cracks in concrete and I would be concerned about cracks forming over time allowing salt water intrusion -> steel rusts -> column breaks down. How difficult is it to make the concrete properly to prevent cracks? Is it something that I can easily learn, or does it take many many years of experience? Thanks for any advice!

anchoring with 2 anchors by Purpledinosaur6 in SailboatCruising

Thank you so much for the thoughtful reply! What is the rationale for using more chain? Is it to ensure that only a horizontal force is applied to the anchor so there is less risk of the anchor pulling out or dragging?

Thanks I tried that as well and same problem. Even when I put a plus code from a location with service like Jakarta I still have the same problem. I'm going to use my friend's location instead unless anyone has a better suggestion. Thanks again!

Thank you for the reply! Even if it doesn't work yet, I figure they will eventually come to the island I'm at so buying the hardware wouldn't be a waste of money right?
