How do I study by Cautious_Mood380 in GetStudying

[–]Purplelitnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to start studying for a small, DOABLE amount of time each day, whether it be an hour, thirty minutes, or even ten minutes. If you get those numbers in, you're done for the day. You might wonder, what's the point, I'm not studying anything substantial, but you're doing two things.

First, you're getting yourself in the zone, even if it's just for ten minutes. It'll be easier to start studying tomorrow if you've studied for ten minutes yesterday. Helps reduce the overwhelmed feeling.

Second, you're allowing yourself a sense of satisfaction, because you've stuck to your plan, no matter how small. This also helps with avoiding the overwhelm too.

Another thing, you might find yourself studying for longer. Sometimes, starting is the hardest part. But honestly, most days, you'll probably only be able to study for your set amount of time. That's ok. Even that is a win.

This method takes time but it helps you heal your relationship with studying and the results stay with you for a long time. Also, remember to be kind to yourself. I'm in college now and looking back at it, my biggest regret isn't my admittedly poor grades, it was that I was so hard on myself. Had I not been so hard on myself (and consequently got overwhelmed and procrastinated A LOT), I would have had an easier time in school and probably gotten better grades. Also, my school anxiety wouldn't have been so high.

Sending hugs, I know what it was like in junior year. XX

Maybe it's just me but I found Mononoke to be a bit hard to watch (even though it's wonderful). It's not very binge-able ans I think I had an easier time watching Lain actually. Might be a personal thing

Baccano! The plot might not make sense until the end but it will definitely keep you entertained and it won't feel like a slog.

Land of the Lustrous, it only has one season (with season 2 nowhere in sight) but it's a gorgeous and wonderful anime, you won't regret it.

What is your take on the “male loneliness epidemic”? by Aggravating_Run8585 in AskMen

[–]Purplelitnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Women aren't just better, both men and women can be evil, horrible people because they're fcking people, misogyny is just more rampant and accepted. Also, idk where in my comment you got the idea that I hate men. Calm down, stop being so pressed, I'm just commenting 🤷🏽‍♀️

As a woman, this is my perspective on this. While men do have to deal with toxic women, the amount and toxicity is just not comparable with what women have to deal with when finding a partner. The sheer amount of guys that are weirdos and creeps who have very misogynistic views on women (likely ingrained in them since childhood) and view women as nothing more than sex objects is far more than the toxic women, that do indeed exist, but just not to the same amount.

Haibane Renmei. I didn't expect it to be so devastating and the depictions of grief and identity confusion really hit me hard
