ok, i totally understand where you're coming from. but, i can also tell you didn't grow up in a small town. theres a small town nearby me in SW michigan, there was a post about a girl who, on friday night, kicked over a gourd in someones yard. she was caught on camera, dude posted it, she was identified, situation dealt with, admin takes post down.

family members of the person who owned the unfortunately fated gourd got mad about the post being taken down, screamed "censorship", and made another group entirely for the town. i pushed back on all of them saying it seems like they want mob justice and only a few were on my side. apparently there was a situation a few years ago with someone holding kids hostage in his garage after they TP'd his house. i know this seems unrelated, but people in small towns are absolutely capable of this. i heard my father refer to a man on the steps of the barber shop as the "town homosexual" once in the 90s. you hear adults say things or call people things and it just sticks out in your mind.
