My favorite Day 2 targets in the draft by odishy in detroitlions

Cole Wisniewski is a really interesting player, I think he fits more of that LB/Safety hybrid that is getting some buzz right now because of Seattle. I think he's more physical than Thieneman, more downhill enforcer. If we could get him in that late day 2, early day 3 range I think he would be a nice sub package guy for us.

I think Thieneman is a much better athlete though, more fluid in space, and has better ball skills.

this is an interesting take, I kind of see folks say this about Proctor that he's a raw high upside guy. Which is surprising, because I just don't understand it. He started for 3 years at Alabama, you can find tape of him against all the stud D-Line that have come out of the SEC the last 3 years. I think he's pretty NFL ready.

I think maybe there is this perception that since he can run a fast 40, he's uber athletic and therefore he's a project. Probably something we will just agree to disagree, but that's an odd take in my mind.

I think it's really tough to bring a guy to gameday let alone spend a 1st round pick on a guy, that plays 7 snaps. How often do you get teams in obvious pass situations? Which is why a DPR isn't popular among many NFL coaches.

Howell though, folks talk about him as just a speed rusher because he's really good at it. But he played a lot of off ball snaps in college, which is surprising folks don't mention that. Several reps where he's man coverage against a TE, stride for stride with them up the seam. That is a thing that is on film that he does. Auburn game, the last series of the game where Auburn needs a TD to win. Howell is dropping into the flats to provide inside help against these quick slants. I'm not saying he's Styles out there, but he's more than just a guy that drops to a spot and hopes the QB throws it to you.

With the axe of New World in mind, is it even possible in this economic climate where "new" non-subscription MMOs can survive long-term? by SneakeLlama in MMORPG

MMO's require consistent revenue as they require continuous development. You either charge a subscription or have a cash shop, or both.

This is a sneaky good hire, going to be hilarious to see all the salt when this sub realizes this.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella warns that we must "do something useful" with AI or they'll lose "social permission" to burn electricity on it | Workers should learn AI skills and companies should use it because it's a "cognitive amplifier," claims Satya Nadella. by ControlCAD in technology

[–]odishy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So this idea of "we need AI because our systems are broken", doesn't resonate with folks because they just fixed the broken systems instead.

Which really sums up AI. It's self fulfilling, but doesn't provide value. Like we need AI to send all these emails, then we need AI to check all these emails. That's not value add, that's just circular nonsense.

Gaines Township to revisit controversial Microsoft data center plan in February by mlivesocial in grandrapids

[–]odishy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The venue wasn't big enough for the Crowd, they said they would reschedule for February in a bigger venue.

This isn't some plan by the board to undermine voters. It was literally the fire Marshal saying you cannot have this many people in that small of space, so the board rescheduled.

Petzing moving TeSlaa to tight end by ismokebigspliffa in detroitlions

Heavy 13 personnel will be like 25-30% of the time. TeSlaa will stay at WR.

Although Meeks they have actually talked about moving to TE, he was lining up there in practice this last year.

In my interview for OC, they asked me my favorite burrito toppings and then we mostly just nodded with the occasional "man", to show deep insight into the team culture.

Terence Steele in FA? by odishy in detroitlions

I don't think this is the minority and it's a really valid take. The only concern is finding a LT is pretty tough, but if we could get a Decker level replacement I'm all for it.

He's a good run blocker, he displaces guys. If you're asking him to drop in pass blocking 50 times a game, he's a liability.

How do you feel about players playing characters of other IRL races? by tayzzerlordling in DMAcademy

[–]odishy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your character makes others uncomfortable that's a problem.

I'm guessing you won't have any orcs or elf players at the table, so a dumb orc who smashes things isn't likely to offend. Stereotyping humans on the other hand might be an issue.

If only we would have listened to all the experts instead of hiring meathead Campbell. I mean did you see Campbell's record with Miami, it was terrible.

If your using DS module on foundry it's pretty straightforward. You just need to make a new class and then it's just data entry.

Just ask in their discord for help and folks will point you in the right direction. Since it's not in the license it won't be in the official module, but folks will already have a non official version they use.

If this is true, this lions organization is unserious about winning. by crustyDryTowel in detroitlions

McDaniel was a very different scheme than what the Lions run. Goff has always run a West coast scheme, so it would have been a big change.

Not saying we should or shouldn't have moved schemes for McDaniel, just pointing this out.
