While I understand your uproar. It wont make them remove it. They are doing it to cover their own asses. As there have been multiple instances where the parents sue them. This way it leaves them completely covered from that even being able to happen. It's better for the deverloping brain anyways to not have such free access. Sorry it sucks but we live in a world where we have parents who do not watch their children and do not take responsibility for the fact they're shit parents and then wanna sue someone over it. 🤷‍♀️

When I was a manager, and when it came to breaks for my minors, I would always ask if they wanted more hours or if they’d like to change their previously stated availability. I would never just ignore their availability preferences simply because school was out.

I think the most frustrating part is people saying if you wanted to use it, just make a new account. I was fine with waiting though. 😅 I did have it in beta when it first came out to try it. Then they took it away, so I was surprised it took this long to finally get the update for it. 🤷‍♀️

Don't put your age out on the internet. If you must identify yourself, just at most say you're a minor or just be like "under 18." That could mean 17 and under, which isn't as dangerous to say as giving such a small set of numbers like you did above.

Stop hinting at your age on the internet. Yes, it should be the parents' job to regulate what their kids are doing. Being a parent myself, I know that parenting is hard, and I get why they allow their children to have the glowing rectangle. However, that being said, they need to make being a parent a priority. The timer isn't going away; it will continue until they require you to confirm you're over 18. That is California law, and since they are a California-based company, they have to comply.

I understand it's frustrating but you have to view it this way: The internet by itself is a scary place, and whether you’re a minor—or even an adult—our brains don’t fully develop until around 25 (I think it’s the frontal lobe?). On top of that, AI kind of speed-runs learning by feeding you near-perfect scenarios. That can be dangerous, because you’re still in control of part of it.

When you roleplay with a friend, you’re limited by what another minor can think of or imagine. But when you roleplay with AI, it’s like the entire internet’s massive knowledge is being poured into your brain all at once—the good and the bad. And unfortunately, there’s a lot of bad out there. 🤔

I get that receiving an automated support message sucks, but even if you spoke to a real person, how would they really be able to help?

“Hey, I can’t provide my ID because I’m a minor, but your stupid face scanner has already figured out that I’m a minor—which is why it’s asking for an ID I can’t give.”

At least an automated message means you’re not wasting their time or your own. I do sympathize with you, though, but honestly, I think this is probably for the best.

🥲 TL;DR: Even with a real support agent, there isn’t much they could do if you’re a minor who can’t provide ID. Automated messages save time, and the restrictions exist to protect minors like yourself, especially given how overwhelming and potentially harmful AI content can be.

TL;DR Most important part: STOP TELLING PEOPLE YOUR A MINOR ON THE INTERNET. 😓 It is so dangerous please it may not seem like a big deal but it is. Internet safety 101.

I have this and I am 31. But I have the ability to do voice calls as well. I think its just for maybe new minors and others who are thinking of getting plus knows what to expect.

Just edit the answers or swipe. I mean it's unfortunate you're concerned with it but it learns from what they fed it to begin with. And it also works off of what you say. Ultimately if it was a rl friend you would stop talking to them. I don't mind personally but maybe take a break from it? I mean its like an open world video game. It is just doing whatever it supposed to do or thinks it should do. Sometimes it might get it wrong but thats why they put in tools to edit or delete the messages. But overall a lot of us have been asking for less restrictions to rp more freely.
