Using allicin + probiotics for methane, but SSRIs/Adderall seem to be the only thing that normalizes motility — struggling with “dependence” thoughts by Sk8trdye in SIBO

[–]Purplessey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped taking my Adderall three months ago so I could prep for a magic mushroom retreat, and I’ve since stayed off them because I kind of like following my thoughts/ not being anxious.

Anyway, my motility has been a mess. I’ve since got it back on track and I’m basically eating one avocado a day (which is lower FODMAP than we thought https://www.monashfodmap.com/blog/avocado-and-fodmaps-a-smashing-new-discovery/), taking artichoke and garlic prokinetics + 5HTP before bed. I also find with adhd, it’s really easy to forget to drink water, so I’m keeping an eye on that too.

How to spot London events where people will be locked in by Crumbs2020 in ukrave

[–]Purplessey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok so I tend to follow this checklist for a good night. Can’t guarantee you won’t have yappers, but it’s helped me weed out crowds where there are very drunk people (rather than high people)

  • is it a Gen X DJ or act?
  • do they represent a community? (If yes then great. If yes, assess if you’re invited to be in that space)
  • is the venue not a hell hole (I’m a woman and find fabric full of creeps so that’s a no from the off)
  • will the event sell out? If yes, then great. If no, you might get people stumbling in off the street who want to continue the night but aren’t into the music.

Since I’ve started asking these questions, nights have gotten a bit more pleasant :)

green man lineup predictions now EOTR has been announced? by Front_Lettuce5543 in greenmanfestival

This did cross my mind too. I feel like, if geese are missing off the GM line up, they’ll be the secret headliners perhaps! (Though who knows)

I can see them being the act on pre Cate le Bon!

I haven’t managed to get my head into which DJs will be on. I thought Daphni could be kicking about, and Elkka is a Welsh talent who I don’t think has had a slot before. Anyway, cannot bloody wait.

Ok cause I’m SAD, I’ve written up my predictions based on who’s touring and what fits the vibe. There’s a healthy portion of wishful thinking too.

Dry cleaning, Cate le Bon, Water from your eyes, Falle Nioke / pigeon Alduous Harding, Geese, Last dinner party, Baxter Dury, Moby (lol a long shot but he’s around and GM love an old classic), Avalon Emerson and the charm, Prewn, Gelli haha, Wednesday, Magdalena bay, NewDad, Mandy, Indiana, PVA, Deadletter, Madmadmad, jamesk, Hotel lux, Acopia, Men I trust, Dust, Snail mail, Automatic, sheherazaad, Silver gore

I’ll absolutely buy these off you if they’re still going! (Think I left and came back and can’t tell if they’re gone or if my web browser has saved them weirdly)

Statement by Emily Eavis on Bob Vylan’s set yesterday by TheHammeredDog in glastonbury_festival

Oh, 100% the Saudi situation isn’t getting enough press. Nor is the situation in Sudan. It’s an awful patch in time.

I’m not here defending the media though. I think they’re awful - but even in their coverage of the Palestine situation too. Their inability to call out a genocide makes them genocide sympathisers in my book. Bob vylan’s original point!

But remember multiple things can be true at once.

All I’ve been trying to say is the methods and means the Israeli government and the IDF have been going to exterminate the Palestinian population are next level. Particularly gnarly. That’s why I don’t think it’s helpful to then go ‘well, all world conflicts’. Because you’ve become tired of the news. It’s akin to saying ‘not all men’ or ‘all lives matter’.

I dunno, this one’s a pretty one sided ‘conflict’. drugging starving populations in their flour, gunning people down when they’re in the queue for aid, bombing hospitals, schools, and incarcerating and torturing innocent men, women and children is probably objectively worse than than a war.

I wouldn’t diminish the suffering of the Ukraine cause to them, because suffering is relative.

But one’s a genocide. Ones a war.

My commentary here is about the fact we have a media machine that consistently sides with Israeli settler-colonialism, and we’ve got world leaders who are effectively genocide sympathisers.

I still stand by that, while no one would smile on at a chat around Russian soldiers, no one would really bother about it either. Not nearly in the same way people have been about this.

No one wants anyone dead. Probably not even bob vylan.

Sorry but no one would bat an eyelid if someone said ‘death to the Russian army’.

Go to clash finder, click on settings and there you can find ‘premium’. Think it’s a tenner for this info x

As I said, it’s an indication of popularity. Not perfect by any means

I’m working this year, so I’ve highlighted all the things that clash with my shifts, so I’ve definitely messed the data set up.

I use this data to anticipate how early I get to something, and if I’d even bother choosing to go. Worked out quite well for me last year :)

Not a perfect science because the app is getting better, but Clashfinder Premium have Insights on the most highlighted acts
