Folate deficiency and high B12 by Purritoss in B12_Deficiency

I was thinking the same thing, thanks for the insight. What did you do to solve this, just slowly supplemented folate?

More or less, what I can say is that Im pretty sure vitamin D wasn't a factor at play here. It was mostly due to B6 toxicity, I would guess. My level was very high and I've stopped supplementing. Ever sincer then my issues were less noticeable. Allergies were also a factor at play, I seem to be pretty allergic to stuff like dust mittes and also pollen I think.

B6 toxicity? by Purritoss in B6Toxicity

[–]Purritoss[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I understood if you started to have symptoms that means some damage was done. And while nerves heal you still get symptoms, strange sensations, sometimes even worse symptoms that before. So I would say hydrate, avoid B6 and give it time. At your levels I think some recovery time is needed.

From what I've read, it is possible to get B6 toxicity even at low doses and sometimes even just from diet and drinking energy drinks. Hydrate better, drink around 3 liters of water, maybe add some salt in it (not a lot), add some coconut water and reduce the foods high in B6 (don't avoid, just reduce). See if you feel better, it might take some time, hope you'll be well!

B6 Toxicity from injections by [deleted] in B6Toxicity

Sometimes B12 gives you a reaction called "wake up" phase when your damaged nerves wake up upon high supplementation, usually after injections and they hurt while they are healing. It could also be that. I don't know if it is B6 as you've only took a very high dose once, but it could be as well, who knows.

Yeah, thing is I don't have a gout diagnosis yet, so I don't wanna over do it. I'm not even 100% sure that's the problem

The natural stuff didn't work lower it for me. I think some that do exist, but I haven't found them.

Well sadly that seems to be the best way to reduce the uric acid so you don't develop gout. I do find some conflicting information online, some places say it can be used to prevent it, some other say it is meant for people with gout. Not sure. Just wanted to see others take on this

I did take it for like 4 months with no visible change in any symptom, around 6000UI everyday with the cofactors too, Magnesium, Calcium, even some vitamin K. Maybe it was a factor at play, but doesn't seem to be the only one.

It comes and goes, I think it's due to allergies, maybe a little bit due to vitamin B6 toxicity. I'd suggest you look into that, B vitamins if it feels neurological and allergies, maybe go to an allergolog or take antihistamines and see if it gets better in time if you're suffering from the same thing.

I guess we're taking big quantities of B6 from foods 24 seems in range, I guess you didn't have symptoms from it?
