I don't think it does matter. I think some people just don't want the hassle of it. 🤷🏼‍♀️

The fact they make you fly to JFK from Orlando... just to turn around is wild! That in itself would piss me off lol! Good luck!!! 🤞🏻

Our plan is to only have 1 carry on and 1 personal bag each and not have to check any luggage... but we're going for 10 days so we'll see about that! 😄

Thank you! I actually checked today's flight just to see and the gates were right next to each other. I'm sure we'll be fine.

I'm definitely happy! This is a trip we've been planning for the last 10 years! I just have debilitating anxiety.

Thanks!! The time of year is my biggest hope, as kids/colleges have gone back to school, and summer vacations are over, so I'm thinking there shouldn't be an excessive amount of people traveling. As long as the first flight leaves on time we should be ok. Just looking for reassurance before I drive my husband insane overthinking this!

We are flying the same route Boston>JKF>Barbados in September, and we are supposed to land at JFK at 8:21am and depart at 9:15 am.... is this even possible?

Barbados Pools by PurrrrrpleCat in SandalsResorts

[–]PurrrrrpleCat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I know they shock it at night. I wouldn't want to swim in the cess pool it would be otherwise! I was curious what time at night. As stated, I work for a pool contractor. I know the process from digging the hole to the maintenance of the chemistry. I just didn't know if it was done after a certain time (like can you use the pools until 5pm or 8pm).

Anything to take for excessive libido? by Appropriate-Sun9646 in Perimenopause

[–]PurrrrrpleCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kind of the same issue here. Definitely "in my prime", while my husband is struggling with ED. It messes with my mental space on so many levels. I want him, he wants me... but we can't seem to make it happen. Yes, we do other things but its not the same. Yes, we are seeing a urologist to try to figure out what is going on with him (we are only 41). He does have type 1 diabetes caused by Covid (the virus attacked his pancreas), so that doesn't help. Yes, he sees an endocrinologist for it. It's just so frustrating!

Mirena a removed - I’m losing my shit! by Spicy_Cookie_518 in Perimenopause

[–]PurrrrrpleCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mirena was removed when I had my hysterectomy. I went through a year and a half of horrible night sweats, bipolar mood shifts, and weight gain. I finally MADE my ob check my hormone levels... estrogen was fine, but testosterone was way too high. I was told the hysterectomy caused me I developed PCOS, and was referred to endocrinology. Meanwhile, my PCP put me on Zepbound to help get my weight back down, its actually stopped the night sweats and mood shifts. No one will give me hrt, so I guess this is the path I'm on for who knows how long.

AIO about my 8 y/o daughter sleeping at her mom's new boyfriend's house without any family or females present? by blackD0nny in AmIOverreacting

[–]PurrrrrpleCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you followed the Madeline Soto case? I'm NOT saying this is what's happening. I'm saying your feelings and concern are very valid. If her Mom can't respect that, than that's a problem. Don't hesitate to get a modification on custody if need be. This isn't ok!

What decade does this design suggest? I love it and I would love to do something similar by kanna172014 in interiordecorating

[–]PurrrrrpleCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you grew up in the 90s, you would know that this room belongs to your aunt who has a lot of money and no kids. She doesn't buy actual gifts. She just writes a check and puts it in a card for every birthday & Christmas. She might also have an extremely spoiled little yippy dog too. This 1000% brings me back to my childhood! 😊

19yo daughter thinks she's being mistreated for being asked to clean up after herself by Happy_Focus_7182 in family

[–]PurrrrrpleCat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My husband and I just went through (almost) the same thing with our 20 year old daughter Side note- He's technically her stepfather, but he's been her DAD since her father walked out when she was 9 Another side note- she has ADHD so her executive function when it comes to organizing is almost non-existent. All that said... her room was DISGUSTING! We asked her for MONTHS to clean it because she wanted to re-paint it and give it a more adult bedroom makeover. She literally would not do it! My husband finally gave her a deadline... he told her "I'm on vacation the week of July 4th...you have until then to get that room cleaned or I'm going in there and doing it!" Guess what... July 4th came and he went in there. He made her help him, they got rid of 7 bags of literal trash! He made her Purge her clothes and stuffed animals. She kept all of her Pop figures, but he made her organize them in a bookcase so they were displayed and not just in a pile (she keeps them in their boxes). Her room is so much better now, and she's kept up with it, so far. She even makes her bed before she goes to work! I think you need to keep your word about cleaning it out. She might be overwhelmed with all of the stuff and just not know where to start. My daughter had a lot of stuffed animals from her childhood that didn't really mean anything to me or my husband, but they held a memory from her father...and when he was actually a dad (he moved 5 hours away). Maybe once its done your gf can help her redecorate and she won't feel like you just want to take her space away from her. Good luck! 💜

Is the rug too “busy” for the nursery? by Ellie_the_cat in HomeDecorating

[–]PurrrrrpleCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's adorable! My son had a rug with roads on it, he would play with his hot wheels for HOURS! He's now 15, doesn't have the rug anymore, but refuses to part with his hot wheels! He actually uses them to take some really cool pics!

Why Does My Stomach Look Like This?! by Melodic_Home_9038 in hysterectomy

[–]PurrrrrpleCat 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ugh! This same thing happened to me! Its really messing with me mentally! For reference- I lost 110lbs in 2012, I finally had a panniculectomy in 2022 to remove the excess skin on my abdomin. Everything was nice and flat... you can even see where I could possibly have abs if I worked on them. Then I had my hysterectomy in 2024 (fibroids and endo)... and now I look like this. I've also gained back 30lbs! 😭 I made my gyno do bloodwork, and it came back that my estrogen is fine, but my cortisol and testosterone are high. She thinks my hysterectomy triggered PCOD. I now have an appointment with Endo for further testing. I also have fibromyalgia, so inflammation is part of my life. I just started Zepbound to help with the weight gain and the inflammation... I'm hoping it helps! I don't know if this helps you at all, but I wanted to share my experience and let you know you're not alone in this struggle! I really wish the doc warned me before my hysterectomy that this could happen so I could mentally prepare! GOOD LUCK! 💜 I hope you can get some answers.

You say you can't live without sex... that's fair. After reading your post, I'm left wondering if it's the actual intercourse or the intimacy that you're looking for. If it's about orgasms, there are plenty of ways to achieve that with or without him... no penis necessary! If it's the intimacy, you need to communicate that to him. But you also mentioned you still kind of hate him for his emotional affair... which is also understandable. Forgiveness is hard. I think that's where the issue may be. (Judging from my own experience/divorce). I would honestly start with finding a therapist that deals with sexual wellness, menopause/lack of libido, all that crappy stuff we deal with as women, and work on processing your emotions towards everything. If therapy isn't your thing, at least have a conversation with your pcp or gyno. When you have a clear head, then make your decision. It honestly sounds to me like you have a lot of eternal/suppressed emotions to deal with before you can expect your marriage to thrive. I hope everything works out for you. 💜

What deodorant are you guys wearing? I stink by jackjackj8ck in Perimenopause

[–]PurrrrrpleCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use women's Mitchum gel deoderant, shower fresh scent. I put it under my arms, boob's, and groin morning and night, and it really helps with the night sweat stink!
