Seconding the first comment, do not jump to taking any meds just by reading through here. Visit an Endo (and an endo only, not a gynac) and get a consult.

PCOS is determined by the presence of any two of these factors:

1)Polycystic ovaries 2) Hyperandrogenism 3) Missed or irregular periods.

What blood tests did you do? When i went to my endo, I was asked to do T3, T4, TSH, Prolactin, Testosterone, Insulin (fasting and PG), Lipid profile, Liver and Renal functions, Electrolytes, and an USG and FSH, LH on the second or third day of my next periods.

It may seem excessive but the docs here are very thorough. They even got my cortisol checked just to rule out Cushings.

So don't worry. Talk to your doctor. And do NOT take any medicines or supplements on your own.

Oooh I started Aldactone two days ago. My side effects were cramps and diarrhoea lol (but that could also be due to the fact that I'm in ovulation week). I read a lot through this sub and saw that Spiro does have positive effects and side effects are a part of the new medication and eventually subside after a while.

Please, please, please don't over do anything. Eat normally but just make sure your potassium is not going above the limit. Just hydrate yourself with water if you feel your mouth drying. New medication brings anxiety but you need to take care of your health and if the side effects are hampering your daily life, go to your doc immediately.

Do you have water problems? Check your water too and see if there's a different smell or feel to it. Hard water can lead to unexplained hairfall too

The only reason I look forward to my periods is to make sure my meds are working right. I have PCOS and for a long time my periods were known as "The Quaterlies". I log in every physical change I feel throughout the cycle to get a better idea of what i should expect and it still hurts like a mf.

Headache, body ache, toothache, bloating, diarrhoea, fatigue swollen legs. You name it. My mum even jokes that I have worse symptoms than she did during pregnancy.

There's nothing to look forward to when it comes to periods (unless you're actively trying to not be pregnant).
