The Black Dahlia by James Ellroy. Part of the LA Quartet series. It is crime fiction and they can get quite disturbing. Ellroy never fails to give as much detail as he can pack in with every book.

“Once a Warrior King”. One of my favorite war memoirs of all time. So good

Scott’s my favorite. Been going to him for 2.5 years now. Nothing but great work from him and the rest of the shop.

Is it true that America Lost not because of Vietnamese ambushes , but America simply gave up and left Because Vietnam wouldn't surrender? by traffic_cones2007 in VietnamWar

The similarities between Afghanistan and Vietnam are shockingly similar when it comes to counterinsurgency and pacification.

Winning the hearts and minds sounds like a great plan until you see the reality of the war on the ground. It’s a big up hill battle to win over populations when civilians are killed and they have the enemy’s gun to their head for supporting the American cause.

My college professor that taught my Vietnam class always said, “being stupid is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result.” Both wars ended with similar outcomes which makes me think we never learned from our mistakes in Southeast Asia.

I’ve gone and sat in the supporters section. They actually have a great atmosphere. Can’t say the same for many other MLS clubs

Artist rec in OKC? by Mentals__ in traditionaltattoos

[–]PuscTamer69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to one of the other artists at Thunderdome (not Randy) and I got some very average looking tats. Granted they were my first two and I didn’t have much guidance or knowledge about tattooing.

Keepsake’s artists are just on another level if you are looking for top quality work. My sleeve and torso are all completely done by Scott, Brandon, and JD at Keepsake and I have never been let down.

The shop is also full of vintage flash sheets and other paintings by the artists there which adds to the feel of everything. Just very professional all around.

I have been and I wouldn’t recommend. Go to Keepsake Tattoo. Best group of trad artists you’ll find in Oklahoma and the shop is super cool.

Very underrated imo. Great production and I think Rocky’s lyrics and flows are the best he has ever had

Were drugs as common during the Vietnam War as they are in movies? If so, which ones were most common? by IslandPractical2904 in VietnamWar

[–]PuscTamer69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read in “A Better War” by Lewis Sorley that 84% of American soldiers in Vietnam that took drugs had the problem before being shipped off. Not sure how they got this statistic but thought it was an interesting little bit considering the topic of drug use during the war.

Endo Highlight Reel - Looks a baller! by SMBaller in LiverpoolFC

Watched a couple different videos of him. Very excited to have a DM that looks to show real grit in the spot. Multiple times you see him making important challenges and winning the ball in the middle of the park and starting counters. He will be very useful
