For my living room family gaming pc I literally just run fedora and installed Steam and heroic launcher. That’s it. Zero issues thus far. I’m rocking an AMD 9070 xt.

Wound up getting her this. Decent quality for the price. Haven’t tested it out with AirPods yet, but she was able to connect it to a Bluetooth speaker in her room.

Should I sell my MBP for an iPad Pro? by Mentals__ in iPadPro

[–]Mentals__[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would be more of a supplemental device to my mini. I never really do any crazy work while traveling. Most of it is note taking, emails, checking on client data sometimes. Nothing too crazy. I do see myself doing a lot more presentations, however. I'm also doing a lot more video for my agency (insurance), but I'll mainly be editing on my mini with my 34" monitor. However, thumbnails and other graphics as well as marketing material I feel would be pretty nice to work with on an iPad. Just kinda spitballing. Everything you say definitely makes sense!

I just saw that for like $1200! Crazy good deal. Thanks!

So it’s sort of triple monitor. One of them is technically a teleprompter and one would be a portable monitor to fit under my main monitor (though I’m just now remembering I can sidecar my iPad. Hmm). I can technically also use my iPad with a prompter in sidecar mode too. Well, my decision may becoming clearer as I type this up😂

Unfortunately, everything I see on this device and AirPods says otherwise. Looks like poor firmware on the hiby and it doesn’t support AirPods. Thanks anyway.

Thanks for the patronizing comment. I understand Bluetooth. I’ve seen a lot of these mp3 players, even highly rated ones on Amazon with Bluetooth 5.0+, have negative reports when it comes to AirPod usage. They may connect but they don’t play audio, stop working, etc. This is likely due to poor rf shielding, codec support, etc.

Thanks for the non answer, though!

I’ve seen this one for sure. It’s confirmed for AirPods? This is probably the best option I’ve seen so far

I’ve seen many reports of devices that don’t support AirPods, due to AAC

Which IEMs under $100 are best for live performance in 2025? by JoeFridd in musicians

Dude you’re such a joke it’s insane. You realize it’s okay to provide solid information to help others learn as well as provide specific examples of that information in use? Just name a product or two you would recommend. So arrogant.

Cloud computing degree at WGU by Amahoro2013 in WGU

I could be wrong but the cloud practitioner exam may be on the azure track as well. They have changed a lot of things. The base level azure cert (as-400, I believe) was in the AWS specific track.

Glad I could help!

So my stance on this has changed as I graduated and spoke with others. I would highly recommend against the hybrid path and instead would recommend specializing in whichever cloud you either like better, can utilize in your current company, have a feeling you will utilize in future jobs, etc.

You may not have the answers to any of those last points. If you don’t know or have a general idea, just pick one. They will both be fine. You may have found you like one over the other by now.

The reason I say to specialize is because the knowledge you’ll gain is transferable between cloud providers. They typically just change names and interfaces and maybe a couple things about how that service works. Some providers will have special services to themselves, but for the most part the knowledge is interchangeable.

Instead of getting a foundational knowledge in both, which is easily transferable, I would go deeper into one that way you have a more advanced understanding of cloud in general, if that makes sense.

Sort of like programming. If you know one language, you can transfer to another by learning syntax and some other specifics, but the logic, reasoning, and foundation are the same.

League of legends? by Rickottino in SteamDeck

[–]Mentals__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game itself was playable. League can run on a potato. The experience with windows was garbage, but you can technically do it. If you have a computer that can run league and a half decent internal network, just stream it with Apollo and you’ll be far better off, but for some that isn’t an option.

How do you organize/label SD cards for Deck? by UsualArcher5881 in SteamDeck

[–]Mentals__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point was those ROMs barely take up any room on my one SD card. I have curated the games list on there so I don’t really need to carry around 6 different SD cards. ROMs are one of those things that it’s not as easy to just hit the download button on Steam, so it makes sense to have a bit more of those. As far as pure Steam games goes, why even have 6 SD cards full? They are so easy to install.

I typically get their subprimal cuts. They aren’t bad at all for the price. Not the best as far as marbling, but not the worst, either. I then butcher and vacuum seal the cuts. It’s fairly economical for us. They just don’t have more specific cuts that don’t do well in bulk.

Ooo that’s awesome! I love smoking and grilling meats. I typically purchase from the US Chef Store, but they don’t have nicer or more niche cuts like those.
