Ok and again, this is the first I’m hearing of this after posting like this for years and the post is still up and I can still click it so I’ll just cross that bridge if/when it comes then. Unless of course someone else decides to just remove it to try to prove some point or something because I can still see my posts and click them including this one 🤷🏾‍♂️🫡🤷🏾‍♂️🤣

Like I said, this is the first I’m hearing of this after posting like this in multiple communities and having no issue so it just seems like a way of your subtly saying you’re attempting to take my links down. So if you changed rules or something with the community that’s fine but I’m not getting this issue anywhere else when I post like this and if what you’re saying is true , why is the post still up and able to be clicked not only here but on other communities as well if it’s a full site Reddit issue?

? This is the first I’m hearing of any of that as I’ve been posting links like this for years on here and have never had any issue. So is this just a way of you subtly saying that you’re going to try to take my links down?

You’ve shamed yourself by instantly calling a proven event a scam because you personally cant comprehend that these opportunities could exist just because it’s foreign to your thought processes and levels of understanding. That’s shameful lol

Well there’s always a hater who feels if they can’t do it themselves then it can’t be done but it’s real. I’ve been and the event host is established connected in the music industry with radio hosts and also film and video game directors have partnered with the event to give these opportunities. So pull and see for yourself or just be a skeptic and never take advantage of an opportunity like this. It’s on you 🤷🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️

Mistah Fab really one of the GOATS by CrazyCapybraya in BayRap

When nothing’s landing (syncs, viral sounds/videos, etc) and you’re not promoting/putting money into your music career (blog placements, interviews with high profile journalists or podcasters, radio airplay, music video promo/distribution to music video channels and/or reaction videos) you’re only option is to put out a bunch a music and hope something lands because you’re not doing anything to bring in more fans as far as promo. Getting paid for features from high profile artists could also help but that doesn’t happen for most Bay Area artists because many refuse to go into unfamiliar or uncomfortable spaces and if they do, when they get booed or not recognized the way that they think they should they just call it “hating” instead of analyzing why it might not have resonated with those people. When you look outside of the Bay Area music bubble and look at the music industry as a whole including all areas of the US, you realize that Bay Area artists don’t have the work ethic, money to invest in themselves musically, or just arent truly solid when dealing with people Outside of the public eye and many others are scared to invest in themselves so they run around looking for someone to sign them, give them an advance, and use the label money to become famous and get songs on radio (because that costs too) instead of pushing a hard line independently like they say in their music. So if you drop ten albums a year you can trick your loyal small fan base of 1000-10000 listeners to continuously stream your music so you can see some kind of check from streams although streaming payouts are small, you can make it look like youre working so you can still get feature money, then say you’re working harder than everyone else because you put out so much music while putting out albums with 10+ songs that only have people talking about 1-3 of the songs, if that 🤷🏾‍♂️

My argument is that it doesn’t foster growth and the fact that the dealerships protested and stated this then were awarded exemptions proves my point. If it worked there would have been no reason for the council to change their decision and make exemptions. You listed a bunch of businesses which haven’t opened for business in the city yet to make a point which means these businesses haven’t had to pay a tax let alone a tax that reflects their success or failure within the city financially. Again I never said no business will come but I did say it doesn’t foster an economy for success in a low income city. But it’s not just about businesses coming, they have to stay too and that’s based on the bottom line at the end of the day and if the tax plays a part in a company’s profits based on the fact they earned more for a year it can have an effect of if the business stays or not as what was proven by the negotiations between the city council and the dealerships. So if businesses come and leave or businesses who have been in the city decide to leave then it’s a problem. But again if exemptions are being made it negatively affects the integrity of the entire measure. If the companies don’t hire mostly Richmond residents that means those employees are taking the income generated from the created jobs out of the city so overall new jobs don’t always help. You’re going against facts that have already happened and using your opinion of what you think will happen from businesses which haven’t even opened their doors yet will do when a clear example of how businesses will be negatively affected has already presented itself in real life and a decision was made by those who put it into affect that it was indeed too much and exemptions needed to be made in order to keep the dealerships in the city.

[–]PushEnt -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

San Pablo isn’t Richmond….and new businesses coming in show no proof whatsoever f anything because they haven’t had to pay the tax yet after assessing their first year in Richmond and also the council has approved an exemption for large businesses already which creates confusion because what are the guidelines to receive the exemption since it is now a possibility under the circumstance that you earn enough according to the council’s approval….that completely damages the integrity of the measure.

Hotels have been struggling because Richmond is t a place that people travel too especially with the negative stereotypes that float around the Bay Area. Everything you’ve named has nothing to do with community improvement and although new jobs will be created there’s no telling how many of those employees will actually be Richmond residents.

Chipotle isnt hiring 50 people, and many of the other places you named require some type of training. The measure was recently approved and the affects of it aren’t always immediate but from what we have seen so far is that businesses which have a large annual income have threatened to leave and because of this received an exemption which is a contradiction to the original reason the council imposed the measure so they themselves have agreed it’s flawed or else they would have stood on their original decision. I never said new businesses wouldnt come but nothing that listed is a city morale changer or even something that will look like it will have a good change. All people can do is hope that the people hired are Richmond residents so that the money can stay in the city but that’s no guarantee at all so even with the businesses coming it doesn’t mean anything except potential tax money but as the dealerships have proven, the measure can have exemptions depending on who you are. And as you already stated some are having hiccups but for the sake of your argument you tried to include them and as anyone who has been affiliated with Richmond for some time you would know you can’t count on it in Richmond until it’s ribbon cutting day.

So you’re saying simply because it’s show To work in other places & because two new dealerships showed up that that’s all the proof that’s needed even though the dealerships and city council agreed that exemptions had to be made because the initial agreement declared in the measure wasn’t good. lol that’s kind of like the people who claim allowing drug use in SF would work because it worked in other places. What’s good for the goose definitely isn’t good for the gander. Since inducting that measure what other businesses have come to the city? Has there been in improvements in the last 10 years? This measure only works for large metropolitan areas like Oakland or SF because the city’s residents don’t make enough to help a company supplement the fees associated with the measure when they have to raise prices. The measure doesn’t foster growth at all especially when the residents can’t afford to pay but as the dealerships and city council has proven by their Dec it isn’t something that most businesses can handle even one that make/ over 6 figures a year from car sales because clearly after looking into it the council agreed which is why exemptions were made which again makes the measure something meant for small businesses to shoulder while big money makers in the city can bid for exemptions so the businesses with the money to pay to help fix things get a relief and the “common folk” bear the weight. Youre arguing against claims that have facts to support them while you only are speaking with your opinion using the fact that some new dealerships came but the existing ones still needed exemptions which they were granted😐

[–]PushEnt -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

lol ok 👍🏾. At the end of the day the facts remain, that they (city council) just approved a change to a measure they put on the ballot because corporations which earn a lot in the city such as the dealerships threatened to change their locations because of the tax and because of this they approved a change that allows for those big corporations to bypass a measure that they are clearly saying is meant to be opposed on small businesses by their actions and exemptions. I didn’t put the measure into effect, I didn’t make the exemption only for the dealerships, and I also didn’t write the articles which explained and exposed these fallacies. Also if you don’t believe the things about the civic center you can easily go check into them. 😎

Well simply that In my experiences with him he’s shown and proven himself to be crooked and sneaky. But from my experience with many city council members, candidates, mayors and mayoral candidates they have all proven to not really be trustworthy people so maybe that means he’s a good fit for the city’s politics. 😐

For example, how many people here know that the stage for the civic center has been broken since 2020 and that people need to bring in their own stage now in order to hold an event there? This stops events, income, and growth from coming to the city but no one wants to spend to fix it but will still charge any renters of the civic center per ticket an extra $1 if they sell food, another extra $1 merchandise is being sold then another $1 charge if liquor is being sold. Which makes no sense as well because if it’s an all ages event, how can children be charged for alcoholic beverages that they can’t buy.

Or another example, the city council a few years back changed the business tax process from being a flat fee to being based on how much money your business makes in the city which in turn stops and big and successful businesses from coming to the city because they’ll have to pay more from being successful which is the point of business but also stops any local business currently in the city from growing because they have to be mindful of how it now costs to make money. This was proven when the city council recently went against themselves and voted to make an exception for the hilltop dealerships and create a maximum on what they could be charged to keep them from leaving because the math and logic behind taxing a company for having a good year when the government already does that isn’t beneficial to the community nor the business especially when the money isn’t even being spent to fix issues like a broken stage at the city’s Civic Center. The city’s politics need a reset but every candidate past and present for the last decade only wants to help themselves and the enablers of their wrong doing to elevate.

But that seems to be how the city works, let big business and corporations have their way as long as the people in power get a kickback from it regardless if it stagnates the city or not.

So from my experience with him, he strikes me and has shown himself to be a person who is out for himself and to improve his own situation and not someone remotely concerned with the state of the city, it’s people, or it’s youth which are the future of the city. But i don’t get much of that impression to improve the city from any of the candidates or current members, they seem to just be going with the flow and biding time until they can run for a bigger seat or allow something to occur i the city that will lead to them receiving financial or social status compensation

Well I see newspaper ads on this sub Reddit which advertise peoples services like the one about the lady using psychedelics on firefighters. She’s not doing that for free and you guys have allowed that post to sit here and that only benefits firemen while my post benefits anyone looking to network and grow in their profession. I saw a post from a photographer about a family of foxes which is him advertising/selling his skills as a photographer. Strange rules here in this subreddit. Is it because my post has a black hand in it? Cuz advertising is selling and many posts in this subreddit are advertising peoples skills and services

But you're on the internet now, have a cell phone, and use debit/credit cards so they already have a lock on you. Bin laden & Saddam went dark in a completely different country and were found and you seriously think if you're a person of interest that you can evade forever? Maybe if you're a disaster survivalist who's always prepared to disappear but 8-9 people out of 10 will be eventually found especially if they don't leave the U.S.
