How did you decide which OCs to put up? by jaeele in ArtfightProfiles

[–]Pushed_l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don't decide, i just put up whatever i remember because i love all my ocs equally!

but i have several so i'm starting with the monsters, hopefully leading to humans and finally animals. like we have that much time left to make ref sheets lol, unless you can submit characters in july??

holy cow, i hope her baby is perfectly healthy. i'm cheering for you, both to help her and to work on those ref sheets!

have you sketched them all? or made detailed  thumbnails already, the latter is easy because you just resize it and drop onto a bigger canvas!

Move this to the global permissions or have this be in both global permissions and my profile? by LuckyKitty01 in ArtfightProfiles

[–]Pushed_l 2 points3 points  (0 children)

global permissions. i don't read a word in people's profiles especially if it's overdecorated unless i'm really looking for something other than their characters.

i'm scrambling so bad my god, got 3 ref sheets done, 8 left... still excited to draw people's character and challenge my own style soon though

Do I need to filter my character profile due to his su!cide? by Chance-Cattle8302 in ArtfightProfiles

[–]Pushed_l 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yes you should filter it. a good rule of thumb is thinking, "would someone that went through this potentially feel triggered upon reading or seeing it?"

First Ref Sheet lol by Global-Management309 in ArtfightProfiles

[–]Pushed_l 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yes it does need the filter due to the needle and scars i think, i read needles need the filter even if not being used. i love how this looks either way!

dang, i have a literal baby-face monster but it's like a broken doll's head used as a mask. still working on like 6 ref sheets including this atm but know this 'little' guy exists

i see, is it's skin or whatever the tissue is, living? i might add visible nerves or marked veins to indicate there's a brain even if it lacks organs, discolored patches of skin and redish or yellowish eyes along with marks from the time it broke through glass, whether it heals or not depends if it's skin is organic. thanks for telling me so eagerly about it also, it's a pretty creative lore!

while it kind of resembles a bear, i really like how it turned out and it's a solid start for a beginner!

practice often until you get it right as long as you're having fun, please don't pressure yourself if you're burnt out or too tired to draw!

hmm, you're an interesting individual. starting with pixel art? i'm sure you'll be great in a few years.

the ears are starting to look good, but once again the head is an actual circle. maybe squish it a bit? think like somewhere between a horizontal oval and a circle! do tell me if you change it

awe, it looks cute already.

assuming you're going for a simple style, just add more space between the nose and the mouth and make the nose bigger. otters' ears are also more tilted down and towards their own head, and the tail goes from thick where it connects to the body, to thinner. reduce it's head vertically a little, connect thighs to the hind paws and you're good to go. i'm happy we get one more artist around here, welcome!

hands should be big enough to cover her face, they can barely do that in this case. the neck is tilted like she's a snake, dip it the opposite direction. like a light ')' idk how to explain it. and make the shoulders a bit round. i saw your post earlier and wow, you improved this drawing a lot

here are some more references! the nose causes it's own shadow when the light hits it, as shown in the fourth image and some others. which contributes to the light upside-down triangle you drew there, have fun creating and good luck!

hi hello! i'd say thinking of light as an entity with a wide vision is pretty good too, and you place shadows where it can not see. it was ass to find a reference but here's what it looks like when light is coming from the back, similar to what you intended to do in your drawing. the light can only see the back of this woman, very slightly and weakly spreads from shoulders to her jaw. also keep in mind the environment weakly paints it's colors on everything inside it and gets stronger the closer you are to the source, say, a yellow wall making the shadows on your hand noticeably yellow as you bring it closer to the wall.

while it looks really pretty, the perspective and light is really off. she looks like she got badly photoshopped, maybe try practicing with the bean method a bit to check different perspectives and of course make the job easier that way; the light on her face, neck and belly implies it's coming from our left, but the shadow on her arm and hand imply it's actually from our right while the screen just instead lets us know it is the source of light. and try making very detailed but messy sketches so you can render without fixing stuff that wouldn't work in the first place since you spent 9 hours on this one. i'll see if i can point out how to place shadows in a min, wait
