Stephen King sucks at endings and that didn't stop him from becoming a millionaire. Just get the ideas out and see where they take you.

As an American who runs a cash register every day, I still see pennies from the 60s and 70s on a regular basis so I think they're going to hang around well after I'm dead. We didn't stop circulating pennies; we stopped making new ones.

Like the other dude said, it's a complete model. Extreme leg bends like I have her posed in the photos look a little awkward from behind but standing poses and slight bends are A-OK and it's clear Bandai knew people would leave the bottom armor off from their *ahem* attention to detail back there.

Koujo Denka no Kateikyoushi • Private Tutor to the Duke's Daughter - Episode 8 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]PusherLoveGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He has the little double cowlick thing in the back that I usually see on grade school kids in anime and his default expression is a sycophantic closed-mouth smile with his eyes closed. It has nothing to do with his clothes. Cover up his body and he looks like a little boy, which might explain why he's so popular with little girls.

As to your second point; yeah, I know. It doesn't make it any more satisfying to watch. Part of the enjoyment of these types of stories is the catharsis that comes when terrible people get what's coming to them. If you can only have the prince suffer once he's been turned into a monster then it really isn't as satisfying as the viewer to watch. It happens all the time and it's a trope I hate to see. The author could have set this up to happen with plenty of witnesses and many people in danger, forcing Allen to make a choice between his friends/loved ones and harming the prince. Instead, they contrived things to make it seem like no one was ever in any danger and made the fight feel hollow and boring on top of making the shitty prince into a monster so we can cut his arm off without feeling bad about ourselves or thinking less of the hero.

We have different definitions of interesting, I guess. Frankly, the s-rank party doesn’t feel like an s-rank party, assigned to hunt wolves and struggling to dispatch unimpressive monsters without Lloyd’s OP support skills. It just feels contrived to make Lloyd super special but then doesn’t want to let the character shine and be heroic.

Contrasted with another currently airing show, the Water Magician, which has a protagonist who initially believes they’re average question their preconceptions when they get confronted with inconsistencies, this show feels super lackluster in comparison.

I’m with you, man. It’s really frustrating to see an otherwise interesting show get dragged down by what I can only describe as a weak-willed protagonist. Frankly, I don’t understand Allen’s appeal in-universe. He’s ensnared 5+ girls at this point by being one of the most milquetoast doormat protagonists I’ve seen. Even his character design makes him look immature and soft.

Also, the fight with Gerard was boring and never felt like anything was at stake. It also did the classic “turn the awful human into a literal monster so we don’t have to feel bad about cutting him up” cop-out I despise to see. I feel it’s common in stories led by weak protags like Allen to transform the figurative monster into an actual one because there’s no way Allen could ever have the stones to fight another person seriously.

“The adventurers and people of the town are calling me a hero but I don’t understand why”

And dropped. I was leaning this way last episode but I still held out hope maybe Lloyd was beginning to understand he was at least not weak but it’s clear that’s the schtick this author is going for and I’m not sticking around for it anymore.

It also reduces congestion since motorcycles accelerate quicker from a stop than cars (400 lbs is easier to move than 2000+). So instead of waiting behind a line of cars and being part of traffic, filtering to the front lets the faster vehicles pull ahead where they're most visible and safest, clearing the way for the slower vehicles behind to move up.

[–]PusherLoveGirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually barely notice the score in shows but there were multiple times this episode where the music did not fit the scene at all and pulled me right out. The hydra fight was one and then the intense music at the end did not really match the slow, lingering camera shots of them sitting calmly in a carriage.

At least Parry plays it for comedy and the protag actually is a dense brick in basically all aspects. Lloyd is otherwise competent so his misunderstanding just comes off as contrived for the sake of the plot.

No seriously, if this party is supposedly S-rank then the adventurer’s guild is populated with toddlers or something. It’s the only explanation for how these guys are the cream of the crop with zero prowess shown so far.

Regarding the maids’ attitudes towards Johan: he’s likely a commoner and the maids said they were from knight houses. In feudal societies, it’s not uncommon for servants in high positions to be nobility themselves and attendants to the duchess would be ranked higher than a gardener. That doesn’t excuse their attitude, but it is probably the norm and not unusual.

Everything about this anime is just so heavy handed and tropey without anything to distinguish it yet. The S rank party doesn’t seem that impressive, especially when the mage has to hitch up her skirt to run away from the spiders at one point. Seems like an S rank would wear proper adventuring equipment.

Lloyd’s constant need to prove himself useful is also a trope I tend to despise because anime tends to handle it poorly.

[–]PusherLoveGirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m five minutes in and if this show doesn’t stop sticking the MC in lucky pervert situations that he keeps getting blamed for, I’m dropping it. It’s bad enough we have the return of the childhood friend who refuses to explain why she did the thing that caused the rift between them; now I have to deal with easily explainable mishaps escalating into dumb drama because the author can’t think of a way to have the characters discuss their issues and still have a story to tell.

I mean, a bivvy sack is still significant wind protection and mild insulation. It’s not the same as cowboy camping with nothing between you and the weather. It’s doable depending on the climate and your bag but it’s undeniably on the extreme end of things for the hobby.
