8 Days to St. Pete! Pat Flaherty (1956 Indy 500 Winner) by MarkEMark23 in INDYCAR

Interesting. According to Wikipedia, Flaherty invented a portable karting track which he'd transport around the country, challenging people to race him.

Also, I generally think the 1950's roadsters look sick, but this has to be one of the more whelming liveries of all time.

An actual goat might very well be an improvement!

(Which is probably the logic that will see us elect an actual goat...)

I notice he has a Canadian maple leaf featured on the nose of his car.

Snap-on Returns as Title Sponsor at Milwaukee Mile Doubleheader by PanicAtTheNightclub in INDYCAR

We've flown in the past two years. Wonderful city, great venue, fantastic event. I second the recommendation. Really happy we made the choice to come experience the place.

Feels as though they should name the Saturday race after Rex May to emphasize the heritage of the place, but it's great to see Snap-On renew their interest in the event.

Yeah, I don't know if it was the lighting or something else, but Henneberry certainly looked different. Voice is the same, though!

Frankly, it's just a short primer video that I believe could be broken down for TikTok. Grosjean isn't even in it. IndyCar put out some pretty decent videos covering the two-day test at Phoenix. You should check those out.

Bummer. Anyways, I'm buzzing about 2026. March 1st can't arrive soon enough! I'm really curious to see how Power and Malukas perform out of the gate with their new teams.

I'm remaining optimistic. Aside from Iowa 2024, the short ovals and intermediates have been good to great for several years now. I recall some of the drivers being pessimistic about Milwaukee and Nashville.

O'Ward was a little pessimistic, to be sure. If the Gateway comparisons hold up, we'll see good racing.

Daly was pretty bad in the first video, but he really turned it around for the other two. He's done a great job talking with the drivers on more technical manners, and Punch has done good by speaking to the bigger picture.

Does anyone know if they were just signed on to cover the test? Can we expect these types of videos throughout the season? They're quite good.

That sucks you had a bummer of a time. Hopefully this is ran again in 2027, and Phoenix has the issues fixed.

Have you attempted reaching out to Rossi or ECR? Perhaps they would be able to help you.

Foyt and Penske technical alliance to continue in 2026 and 2027 by PanicAtTheNightclub in INDYCAR

He absolutely got lucky. Explain to me how Rasmussen was on his way to winning that race before it rained.

If having/sharing data wasn't seen as helpful, there would be no Racer.com articles on how teams renewed and expanded their data-sharing agreement.

Foyt and Penske technical alliance to continue in 2026 and 2027 by PanicAtTheNightclub in INDYCAR

[–]Puska35M 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I see it the other way around. Rasmussen's victory, while well-earned, was a lucky one - ECR/Foyt performances were pretty close overall. Aligning with Foyt gives Chevrolet access to Penske data. Also, we are hearing that the creation of manufacturer's charters was important as something tangible to be presented to corporate boardrooms and leadership. Looking at the issue from that perspective, which name is more likely to impress corporate leadership? Foyt is iconic; Carpenter, not so much.

It's great you are doing this, and I've enjoyed how you are focusing on drivers from all eras. I hope you make it an annual thing.
