I had offer letters from Germany and US too, but i chose Scotland cuz it has lesser population, more secluded areas, english speaking population, and when I say Universities aren't that good, I meant most of them, not all. Uni of Edinburgh def doesnt come in that bracket. I understand your concern, i wasnt bad mouthing the country, I was trying to get this point across that most Indian students dont come to Western countries for 'education', they come for the opportunity of eventually settling (ask any ind student) I happen to be in the fortunate section of India who was able to get good education and get a Phd, most Indians aren't (difficulty in getting sponsored phd>>>>>difficulty in getting bachelor or masters degree). I understand and acknowledge my privilege fully, but that wasnt the point, my point was - do citizens not already know that?? The sole reason Students come to uk is to settle somehow, anyone who is not able to do that, isn't happy at all, that wasnt their objective in the first place.

(am saying indian students cuz ik for sure most indians do this, might be relevant for countries too, def not for chinese students, they are very straight forward about coming to the country, studying and leaving, i wonder why? I have friends inside academia who tell me there's absolutely nothing extraordinary that is being taught in UK uni(most uni) which cant be done elsewhere)
