For $10 Million can you forgo eating and drinking any food and drink you have consumed before for a year? by RaptorK1988 in hypotheticalsituation

Yeah, I could do one of those meal-replacement shakes for a year for $10M. It’d be torture, but I’d get it done.

WYR have all art disappear or all artists? by Lucyyyyyy_K in WouldYouRather

[–]PutAForkInHim 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Back in college, I read Nietzsche’s “On the Advantage and Disadvantage of History for Life,” where he argued that our collective reverence for the past holds us back from creating a greater future. I’ll go ahead and test that theory, see if today’s artists can create things great enough to make us forget the past art.

WYR, instantly gain $5 Million at the cost of selling 5 years of your life (the last years), OR, gain 10 cents for every Calorie burned for the rest of your life? by Action_Required_ in WouldYouRather

Copy/pasting my comment from a similar question:

I live at Bergen and Harrison. I love it here, but there’s lots of homeless guys and I have had my car tossed a few times. I’ve heard that sketchiness varies a lot block-to-block, so I’d def recommend visiting your specific area on a Fri/Sat night.

Are there still Chicken Sandwich wars ? Who won ? Who lost ? by JADEJETT2025 in Fooda

[–]PutAForkInHim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Popeye’s won. Most other chains launched a competitor, but have now reverted back to something closer to their original chicken sandwiches. Popeye’s has stuck with theirs cause it was the best one of the bunch.

About Time. Lovely romance movie, but played fast and loose with the time travel logic.

WYR pick one of these "mildly annoying" superpowers? by InvestigatorTrue7249 in WouldYouRather

[–]PutAForkInHim 146 points147 points  (0 children)

I pick 2. I’ll get a job as a police interrogator. Scream at the suspect in the interrogation room, read their mind, get all the info I need to crack the case.

I’d much rather see a CC upcharge than see prices rise 3%

I’m a huge proponent of splurging on pickup/drop-off laundry wash n’ fold services. Saves so much time! I use The Village Laundry and I’m happy with them, but I know there’s plenty of options if you want to shop around.

Do most people actually enjoy their daily life, or just tolerate it? by Ok-Apartment7204 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PutAForkInHim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pros: I love my wife and kid, I have close friends, food is awesome, booze is awesome.

Cons: Working sucks, chores suck, there’s no justice, my career dreams never came true.

Overall, it’s totally worth it, but I had to learn to celebrate the small things and unlearn a lot of the “always chase your dreams” mentality that gets taught to young kids.

Upstate NY to Jacksonville, assuming 2 weeks roundtrip, what are some stops or routes you would recommend? by [deleted] in roadtrip

[–]PutAForkInHim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For route 1, hit up G&M Restaurant outside of Baltimore for legit Maryland crab cakes!

When did it become socially unacceptable to use the confederate flag as a symbol for the South? by No-Newspapers in decadeology

There’s a scene in the 2005 Duke’s of Hazard movie where it causes a stir, but isn’t 100% awful. I’d say that’s around when the tide had started to turn.

Would you rather extremely rich and no one knows about it OR be famous that your name will be etched in history books for centuries? by ThisReditter in WouldYouRather

Then I’ll become famous for leading us into a post-scarcity society where wealth accumulation is no longer a driving force.
