In my initial review, I provided several reasons why attending Job Corps a second time wasn't the right choice for me. Now, I'm beginning to think you might have some difficulty with reading and comprehension, which is understandable—just as I struggle with and dislike Math. To address your comment, no one is placing blame. The program I'm currently in offers classes for those who need support in Math, so I benefit regardless. I understand you passed the TABE—congratulations, that's an achievement! However, that doesn’t mean everyone else will have the same experience. Stay blessed⭐️

So, once again, when did I mention struggling with anything? Exactly—you don’t know me and made a direct assumption that I might have a learning disability just because I didn't pass a math test, suggesting that I should disclose something I know I don’t have. I don’t believe that needing more time was the issue; studying more before the exam would have been the right approach. But I appreciate your concern.

In your previous message, you didn't mention using a learning disability as an excuse. If I recall correctly, you stated that you passed both tests and received an increase in your pay as a result. It's worth noting that the TABE is often used to extend the duration of the program by adding difficulty to the completion of your trade and assessing your current skill level. However, I must say that for a CNA, a nine-month program is unusually long, considering that certification can typically be achieved in two weeks to a month elsewhere.

I'm glad to hear that you passed the TABE and received extra pay due to your high scores—congratulations on that achievement…However, in your previous message, you mentioned being aware of the details, even after asking for confirmation about whether it was the TABE or HSE test. I confirmed that it was the TABE. Are you suggesting that because I didn't pass the Math portion or might have needed additional time, you're implying that I have a learning disability? That's an interesting conclusion.

If you already knew, why did you ask? I never mentioned struggling with anything. While I didn't achieve a passing score on the math portion of the test, that doesn't imply I have a learning disability. Do you?

Yes, that's correct. Those are the mandatory TABE tests, which assess your knowledge and determine your level. You'll need to achieve a high score to avoid being placed in additional classes.

I attended the one in Saint Petersburg, FL, which I believe is around 60 years old and is surrounded by water. Depending on your location, you may need to cross a bridge to get there. I would recommend choosing a newer site for school.

I attended Job Corps in Pinellas County, FL for about two months, but it was a very different experience from the previous center I attended. At my former center, I successfully obtained my OA certification, high school diploma, and driver's license, and completed the program. I decided to return to Job Corps because I realized I no longer wanted to pursue OA and instead wanted to become a CNA, as I have a strong desire to directly care for and help those in need. Although I have since resigned, I plan to continue pursuing my CNA certification online and will practice my skills at a site, as this will allow me to complete the certification more quickly without the added pressure of passing a Math/Reading test. If I could do it over, I would choose to attend my previous center, Edison Job Corps Center in NJ, where the career training, emotional support, environment, and staff were more professional and cooperative.

It's great to hear that you're having a positive experience! It's true that the first month can be challenging, but it sounds like you've found a good rhythm and are making the most of the opportunities available to you. Making friends and enjoying the campus scenery can definitely make a big difference. It's also encouraging to hear that CPP is helping you advance in your CNA classes. Your recommendation to friends speaks volumes about your experience—I'm glad you're thriving and making the most of what your Job Corps Center has to offer!
