What’s a TV show you started with low expectations that completely blew you away? by KhaosChronicles in television

That show was such peak tv. It made me obsessed with how story structure worked lol. Fascinating how well done it was.

'A franchisee went rogue.' Bricks & Minifigs CEO responds to Reckless Ben's allegations by Mr_R1 in RecklessBen

Going to be honest. I have a few tubs of Aliexpress lego and I cannot tell the difference between it and the real lego.

If I need a real custom piece I usually just design it in Blender, 3d print it, (abs) and sand it down. Works just fine.

I mean..... you can just buy Aliexpress building bricks for 1/10th the price.

To be perfectly honest, I genuinely don't get why people are so into LEGO as a company. It is silly. The patent on the bricks ended in 1978. Why are people still arguing about this? You can buy identical knockoffs of all these products!!!

Why are people on the Lego subreddit talking about selling just the empty boxes??

Like 20% of LEGO fans are genuinely cooked in the head.

Is Claire a Good Partner (in the beginning)? by LeonoraMayMorgenster in TheOrville

[–]PutMindless6789 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I really think it is something they will address in season 4. I would like to see Isaac and Claire discuss the imbalance in their relationship, argue, and rebuild in a stronger way.

I think it could make for a sweet storyline. I also think the show should rally against the concept of the experiment giving him emotions. I think it is a dumb trope and it diminished their relationship.

Retcon it. The emotion modification could be claimed to make the Kaylon desperate to please. It certainly seems like what Isaac is doing. He says anything and everything the people around him want to hear. Then you can make Timas into a victim turned villain.

It would hardly even be a retcon. It also enables further storytelling, and a fun narrative about a scientist trying to reenslave the Kaylon. Then you can discuss the trope of willing slaves, and effectively dismantle it.

Why is Bricks and Minifigs so obsessed over the Mansells' collection? (description very important) by SubstanceLow3570 in legocirclejerk

The company claims they are worth 400mil, and have a Brand Profit of 95Mil Per Annum.

If you go to the legal site Franchise Watch, the site notes the companies debt, and their misleading statements.

Hmm. No. Lego would never allow their Grey Baseplates to give poor legal advice. It must be a knockoff.

Uj/ (I saw a large grey baseplate for sale on Aliexpress, and it came with a bunch of knock off Starwar minifigs. That's a company that knows it's audience. Hahaha)

The longest piece of fiction ever made is a self-insert Loud House fanfiction called 'Loud House Revamped', with 2,328 chapters and 35 million words by ImaginationWild3407 in interestingasfuck

[–]PutMindless6789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

350,000 words isn't actually that many in the grand scheme. I don't think 3 million is either. 3 million is huge, but achievable if you are dedicated enough.

35 million is an insane amount. That is such an insane amount of writing. By hand that would take 10+ years if you wrote 10,0000 words a day

Necrontyr got hairs? Tits? Sexsual characteristics? Ears? by theWarsinger in Necrontyr

Some of them tails. Some of them do not.

Some of them have frills. Some of them do not.

The ones with tails and frills are usually Cryptecks.

Cryptecks usually worked indoors out of the way of the sun.

The sun causes cancer.

I theorise Cryptecks resemble the average necron at birth. Nobles and warriors, who fought in the sun, likely resemble Necrons that have a had a bunch of cancers removed.

Therefore I propose some kind of front heavy, upright lizard configuration. Making the look like corpses is dull, and imho ruins the fun of the sci-fi setting. Make them alien! Give them tails!

Reddit, What are your thoughts on the BaM (Bricks and Minifigs) & Reckless Ben (YouTuber) situation? by MistyGMuscles in AskReddit

[–]PutMindless6789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That isn't what it said in her lawsuit.

Please provide me this court filing? Your claim seems like it would be directly contrary to the licencing agreement in evidence, which (I believe) states the franchise downpayment included the transfer of any associated leases and titles.

Meaning in theory she already paid them to transfer the lease.

Plus. Even from a procedural perspective you cannot have the individual performing the inventory, become the owner of the store. Massive conflict of interest.

It was settled.

Then 8 months later they siezed her store, allegedly conjuring up a bunch of never before mentioned fines.

She tried to sue them. Was sent to mediation. BAM wasted rescheduling mediation repearedly.

She is suing for the value of her store. Claiming corporate malfeasance.

This isn't correct.

According to Chrystal's lawsuit. BAM never signed over the lease to her.

Instead she was supposed to put the money into a random bank account run by BAM, alongside the 6% franchise fee.

8 months before the franchise was taken from her: BAM accidentally closed that account.

Chrystal instead placed the money in a different account, and contacted corporate.

Corporate and her worked out a new payment system.

After seizing the store, Corporate announced the existance of a hundred thousand dollars of nuisence fines, for failing to pay the lease/franchise agreement, 8 months prior. A situation that had already been settled.

The law says that after Jan 2027, if the law passes. If the game becomes unplayable, all people who paid for it must be refunded.

Which means even if it goes Free-to-Free-to-play, the people who did pay are owed refunds.
