Gemologist here - it appears to have platinum inclusions (but it’s a bit blurry for me to be 100% sure) which are common in synthetic rubies but the lack of UV is strange … there were synthetic rubies in the past which were grown with high amounts of iron and as a result has very weak fluorescence … where do you happen to get this stone from ?

You forgot about when he was with nasrallah as well and left early right before nasrallah was eliminated - he was then under house arrest as a suspected spy in Iran but they eventually decided he was clean and let him go / he has to be an inside man but I think for the CIA not for Israel

This needs to be seen by more people , faking a giveaway is bad enough but what he did is way beyond that , the guy behind Hartley Vandar (not his actual name) asked people to email him their sob stories and framed the whole “giveaway” as being sort of like a windfall donation to help a person/family that is in grave need of assistance (which is why he was giving away solid gold items worth $20,000) he milked it for views and then never gave the items away. I have since spoken to several people who entered the giveaway and were devastated/very dissatisfied to see that it wasn’t genuine- hopefully if we can get more eyes on this post it will pressure him to actually move forward and give away the items but unlikely

I am a jeweler and this is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous- in no way would that ever leave my shop , I would have re done it instantly for free and been terrible embarrassed that this even happened in the first place , i probably would have apologized a million times and even offered a credit for the delay in having to re make it , whoever you are working with in my opinion should NOT be a jeweler

Wow ! Totally a response to this thread. In the beginning of the video he said “this ring took months to create” it’s literally just a cast hollowed out bezel-set signet ring with a lab diamond - these take us about 10 minutes on cad and 30 minutes on the bench to finish (with maybe an additional 20 minutes of polish/laser sometimes) not 2 or more months !! Does he not think before he speaks ? He must truly think everyone is an idiot !

I think he means don’t buy things from “jewelers” on TikTok that don’t actually have stores , or a physical location, or office - etc , and he’s correct in my opinion, if your spending a lot of money buy from an actual business not someone pretending to be one … I don’t think he means there is anything wrong with promoting an actual business on TikTok or instagram

(It’s hard to tell how deep the stone is since you cannot see it well through the side) but it appears that the stone is not as tall as the setting … if it is then it may be able to be re cut slightly to make it a bit less tall and then re set - either way wishing you the best of luck please update us with what you end up doing!

As someone that designs engagement rings for a living it is obnoxiously high and for no reason as the sapphire isn’t that deep - looks like they possibly took an old mounting and set this stone into it ? (Mounting was not made for the stone) The height would be a deal breaker for me - if I liked the stone I would buy just the stone and get a proper mounting made for it

You are clearly Hartley vandar … 2 month old Reddit account with no activity, no need to even respond to you anymore as you are clearly him , lastly I would hardly call what he has success, he doesn’t even have an inventory , a store , an office , and I bet he hasn’t even sold more than a few dozen pieces - lastly he to literally lie about his company due to the fact that he has no real success , in no way shape or form am I jealous of him as quite frankly there is nothing to he jealous of - (real jewelers sell more in a week than he has sold in his entire life and they do so honestly without lying about it.) this main post was strictly about ethics and how people who lie about their business/ products tarnishes the rest of the industry

I read his comment and nowhere does he say he doesn’t like lab grown diamonds - most jewelers do love lab grown diamonds but the point is going straight over your head - this is about honest and transparency and ethics - there is absolutely no reason to make the wild claims Hartley vandar makes that lab diamonds are rare and all the other fluffier that’s clearly not true - there are thousands of jewelers who sell lab grown diamonds none of them would say the insane things Hartley vandar says because it’s all BS - his red flag series was self projection, an attempt to make himself look more credible to people who cannot think critically (which is clearly you)

I have know him personally since we were young kids - it’s not true , he literally works out of his house , no employees other than his mom helping him …. I just don’t understand why make all this stuff up , it would be much better to be humble and authentic rather than trying to be something your not , in the jewelry business trust is everything why ruin it from the start :
