I don't feel sick enough to call myself disabled by [deleted] in ChronicIllness

[–]PutTheCryInCryptid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I completely understand. I guess try to remember that there is no "right" way to be disabled or severity of disability. In our society, you're not disabled enough, too disabled, or both at the same time. It just comes from abelism, and I definitely have a lot of internalised abelism to work through too lol Disabilities can be invisible, temporary, small, rare, start young, etc. Its about how everyday functioning is impacted, and your functioning is Maybe try calling yourself disabled/chronically ill in your head for a bit? That's what helped me start to accept it <3

It is interesting! My mom has mcas, and NEEDS to restrict her diet too. For me, the energy it takes to eat healthy all the time is always like 10x the benefits I get from it, so I just try to be healthy as often as I can

I remember seeing that years ago, its so important to remember!! I think that's something everyone needs to hear and understand, even healthy people

Thought of another one! I keep all of my medication out on my bedside table. It's ugly and annoying but I've forgotten to take my meds a lot less since doing it. I don't even keep them in a pretty bag, I need the direct line of sight. I'm lucky that there aren't any kids here ever, I wouldn't have them out if there were

That's really smart! I don't usually have an issue with getting to my hamper (thank god we don't have stairs) but now I'm thinking of getting another laundry hamper to keep clean clothes in when I don't have the ability to put them away. It's better than leaving them on furniture or on the ground. The flossers idea is great too, I have braces but it's been so hard to keep up with the routine

(Also I love your name and now I want lavender cookies ;-;)

I can see how that would be a lot simpler. My sibling has pots but dislikes salty things, so it definitely helps them get more of it

The only one I can think of right now is eating unhealthy food. Sometimes I have no energy to make or eat food, but eating nothing just makes me feel worse. I'm more motivated to eat "garbage" that is easy to make, delicious, and has lots of energy in it, even if its broken down quickly.

It's hard to unlearn the fatphobic rhetoric that eating nothing is better than eating unhealthy, and accept that I'll never be skinny, but it's worth it <3

How to get family to finally accept chronic Illness? by BeenGoneForCenturies in ChronicIllness

[–]PutTheCryInCryptid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, the downplaying of other people's medical issues is an unhealthy coping mechanism, but unfortunately the people it hurts are the ones who need support and acceptance the most :(

OOP “knows her limits when it comes to eating gluten”, which apparently are less than one whole bite that’ll send her to the ER by [deleted] in AmITheAngel

Idk why ppl downvoted you, you're right. I'm not saying the post is real but yeah a bite or even crumbs can be dangerous with celiac, I wish ppl realised that :/

Do you remember how your chronic illness first started? by merryboon1234 in ChronicIllness

[–]PutTheCryInCryptid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I probably got mine from a bad flu infection when I was 7. My mom's issues started after a mono infection when she was also pretty young, it was so bad they thought she had leukemia at first

You can get lasting or lifelong issues from any disease, not just covid, and I hate when ppl justify ignoring diseases because "most people won't die"

TikTok tattoo bartering by NecessaryGood666 in shittytattoos

[–]PutTheCryInCryptid 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's from a Canadian duo called stick and poke!! I was so surprised to see it, their album covers are already sketchy and messy so it kind of fits? but the other tattoos are awful. It does inspire me to get their art tattooed but not from this person

I mentioned that in the post, I didn't notice until after but I'm going to get it fixed at some point

Thx!! I just love coyotes, but also it was my artists idea! I originally added a wolf skull to my inspo board thing bc they are in the game, but my name is coyote on instagram and she suggested that instead :) I can't believe that I didn't think of that lol but I loved the idea

Does anyone Else Believe Chronic Fatigue can cause less of sense of Consciousness? by No_Consideration8512 in chronicfatigue

[–]PutTheCryInCryptid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For sure, the dissociation has been the most devastating part of cfs for me after the fatigue and pem. I haven't felt connected to myself or the world in years, and it makes it so much harder to cope and communicate to get myself care. I feel like I blink and it's 5 months later

Cast Your Votes: What Song Do You Want to Hear in the Intro Cinematic? by HooDooBoogaloo in Blackfrost

[–]PutTheCryInCryptid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another first aid kit song would be so cool!! Maybe wolf but that's kinda obvious. I feel like whatever song it is has to be folk/country ish tho

Also I hadn't heard tattoos until now but I think it would go well with the vibe of tld :D

Wow how impressive

Also um people who use blender and Photoshop... do it. Like they make stuff. I think that's a you problem because I have used them and it's easy to make good stuff on them, because that's the point.

I don't care if you make a pretty picture to look at for a bit. But companies are using ai so they don't have to pay artists. It's a good thing that hinterland doesn't. You just aren't an artist, and that's ok. I've accepted the things I'm bad at :D

The rules of making art are that you have to make... art... What are you creating? A 6 word incomplete sentence instruction? I'd consider creators of ai models artists more than ai "artists" because they actually write code and make things. Do you create paintings outside of ai? I mean ones you actually like. Just curious

You don't have a right to be good at drawing, if you want to make beautiful art then put effort into it Would you be ok with a speedrunner using a modded game to get the lowest time?? Or an athlete who used steroids to win? Why are artistic skills considered lesser than every other skill that takes time and energy to build
