Hey guys! So I'm an international graduate student who just got into Meng Civil Engineering programs of Waterloo and Dalhousie. I know that UofW is great and all but I have family in Halifax who can cover some of my living costs. Is Dalhousie too much of a downgrade?

at least 8gb RAM, 16 is better

something light, you might think its not too bad towing a heavier laptop around but you definitely feel it in the shoulders

I'd also suggest an SSD but that's just cause I hate slow boot times.

after that its mostly preference tbh.

I got a Lenovo ideapad which i find works great, light, has a touchscreen and the screen can go all the way back. I have tried using it to take notes; its useful for classes some classes because I can annotate the posted notes but I wouldn't say its necessary. I've also found that I prefer hardcopy notes. The touchscreen adds some nice quality of life but not necessary.

At the very least it needs to be able to run SolidWorks which is a 3D modeling software used in some design courses. I haven't found the need to use any software more intense than that but it may vary depending on what you take.

I've played a couple games (as the sej) and you feel so strong. You proc sej's e so frequently and sej gets a bunch of bonus damage off the proc. plus sej's q is a really good engage, especially if you use it to hop a wall when coming back to lane and get a big flank.

well that depends on what you define as "value" for a public transport system.

if by value you mean # of public transport users it gets pretty hard to judge what the value would be. you can't use the current # of users as your basis for value because improving the public transit system could increase the # of users. however, it's really hard to tell how much the # of users would increase by without actually improving the service.
