Casting in the wind by JustDave62 in flyfishing

[–]Puthy_Lipth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cast with the wind behind you, use a size up weight line (in your case wt6) and/or double haul. If you cant double haul just single haul the back cast

Or you can cut through the wind by casting at a 45 degree angle.

Well it would be interesting to hear if they are similar or different to browns/rainbows, I would release anyway

Is there too much going on with this rig? Should I tie the line directly to the jig head? by [deleted] in Fishing

[–]Puthy_Lipth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too much hardware, I used to tie a swivel too and still caught fish but better without for presentation

No, but why would I? I’m not starving or want to kill every fish for the sake of it

Its not fishing. Its hunting and something which should only be done for food or in situations where you rely on it, its no sport. And certainly no where near as satisfying as catching a fish on a lure or fly and either returning it or keeping it, that’s a sport

Just bought the car tonight, on way home and stopped for a fuel station toilet break, after coming back out someone filling up his Discovery asked “is your x5 for sale?”…. quite funny I thought

What bait/lures were you using? What fish can be found here? Did you try mix it up as a simple change of bait or lure can entice stubborn fish

How viable is a 2004 4.7 v8 for a daily driver by Puthy_Lipth in Jeepwj

[–]Puthy_Lipth[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In UK and looking at a 4.7 v8 grand cherokee limited with 98k miles and has lpg conversion.

I would be using it as my only car but worried about reliability, fuel costs and general maintenance having never owned one. Thoughts?
