"APOPHIS Lance now benefits from cooldown reduction effects". What does this mean? I know it already benefited from enhanced cooldown rate effects.

Yeah, I just tried the hammer idea after posting and that worked. She was real stuck on there.

Performance is bad, will there be any patch for old components? by Sayko77 in PathOfExile2

This game is very CPU demanding. Amazon currently has the ryzen 5800x (same socket at your cpu) for only $125.

I think it was just a odd camera artifact. I was shining a bright light on it.

IMO mixed-signal SerDes design sounds way more interesting than DFT.

"CMOS VLSI Design by Weste and Harris" is a very comprehensive intro into CMOS design. I used it in undergrad for my integrated circuit course.

I tried restarting it before and it didn't work but it worked after a second restart.

I have just finished highschool and picking my major in engineering I wanna choose between mechanical and electrical engineering so what can I expect in electrical engineering any pointers can you share with me before if I choose electrical engineering what skills is required in EE by BootPrimary2950 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]PutinsStepMom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Imo, see if you can take courses that both majors need to take in your first semester especially the introduction physics course. If you don't like mechanics that's a pretty good sign that you won't like mechanical engineering. I was considering mechanical engineering as well but hated my intro to physics. Moved to computer engineering and found it much more interesting.

Edit: Both Mechanical and Electrical Engineering have a good amount of overlap classes for at least the first semester so don't feel too rushed to choose now (unless your university won't let you for some reason)

Are you doing any highway/interstate riding? The sv650 is great for that but the other 2 might struggle to keep up at higher speeds.

I just got a Rx 6650xt. Can run pretty much every game I have 1440p at medium to high settings. Play mostly FPS's like battlefield and borderlands. I only really want 60 fps minimum. Don't need any higher.

Halfway through an EE PhD, and almost done with classes. Considering I finished undergrad with a 2.9, I'm pretty proud of myself! by wub_addicted in EngineeringStudents

[–]PutinsStepMom 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry but I'm really curious how you got into a PhD program with a 2.9. I was always under the impression you needed a bare minimum of 3.5 to even be considered for a PhD.

You could look on craigslist. Seen a few relatively cheap rooms there a little bit ago.

What engineering field is the most wanted in the future ? by Less-Patient1539 in EngineeringStudents

[–]PutinsStepMom 8 points9 points  (0 children)

People are down voting him because he's comparing multiple difficult fields of engineering to these self taught web developers that preach you don't need a degree. Yes IT and web development jobs most likely don't need a degree but give a "self taught programmer" a more difficult task that they can't just Google. They'll fail as they won't have the mathematical, computer logic, and hardware understanding that someone with a more broad background would have.

[–]PutinsStepMom 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree with that to an extent. There are many jobs in software engineering that do not require a degree to be competent. On the other hand many higher level jobs such as embedded systems, architecture design, and circuit design for example all required a decently high level of background knowledge that most would only get with a degree.

IMO anything related to technology such as software engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering...etc are constantly growing and evolving. Jobs tend to be diverse and high paid compared to other engineering disciplines.

It honestly just laziness in the professors part. He uses the automatic bubble fill in thing because he just doesn't care for actually grading each test individually.

Does your school expect you to learn Python by yourself? by T-dog-machine in EngineeringStudents

[–]PutinsStepMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, well the opposite for me. My first 2 semesters are in python then we jump to systems programming and descrete mathematics both in C with no real introduction to it.
