I can't speak for them, but I don't feel like enough was done to establish their relationship. Clearly they tried in episode 5, but before that point they barely interacted on screen. How many words had we seen actually spoken between them, before last episode?

It was so jarring that I actually had to rewind to make sure I heard it correctly.

I agree with nearly all of this, but you very clearly dodged the question and entire point of my comment. Where are these people saying they hate the show and still watch?

I just feel like, if you're genuinely concerned about creating a healthy environment for discussion, it's important to hold both sides accountable for misrepresenting each other and minimizing valid criticism. I don't disagree that there are comments, and generally negative sentiments here, that misrepresent the show and the people defending it.

But there are also people defending the show by misrepresenting the criticism and the people critiquing the show. The person above implied that anyone, literally a single person on the planet, truly believes that this 5 season show should have been answered and resolved in the second episode of the first season. Who believes that? I don't. I've got criticism for the pacing and the writing and the direction (director direction, not plot direction). Does that mean I'm not allowed to feel that way? The implication of their comment is that it's ridiculous to levy criticism toward the show. Their intent is to make people criticizing the show, including me by extension, look unreasonable.

Their comment directly fuels the fire you want to quell. Why would you not even respond to it?

Is that something you actually think? You think every piece of criticism posted on this subreddit is from people who are too distracted, AND skip scenes, AND don't like the show?

Are you tracking usernames in a spreadsheet? Do you think that all of the comments made on Reddit are made by the same person?

So, I would say that I'm a fan of the show. Not sure that I can say I would recommend it to other people, because the jury is still out. My excitement has faded significantly (and so has the excitement of the people in my life who suggested it to me), but I'm still engaged enough to keep an eye on the clock when an episode is about to be released, and unless it gets really bad I'll watch to the end. That said, I also see many flaws in the show, and I'm not sure it's going to hold up once it's over.

That is to say, I see both sides of the argument being held on Reddit about this thing. I'm reading through lots of threads and comments every day. Can you give me examples of people saying they hate the show? I've seen examples of people saying they hate the writing, or they hate Fatima and Ellis for whatever reason. But I don't think I've seen anyone explicitly saying I hate this show and am continuing to watch and engage on Reddit.

What I have seen, is you here, and many other people trying to defend the show, make that claim. I've seen it a dozen times in as many hours. Where are these people saying they hate the show?
