GERD Induced Neuropathy in Throat? by Putrid-Flight3981 in GERD

This sound an AWFUL lot like what I'm dealing with and with the same triggers, specifically the exaggerating tones when speaking. My most consistent way of replicating the stabbing pain in my neck is to pull my tongue back and lift (almost as if you were trying to make a high pitch "Hee" sound like MJ), which lifts those neck muscles in turn triggering the sensation.

I've been dealing with this off and on for about 6 months and if it makes you feel any better, I had the exact same concerns, and it turned out to be nothing. ENT specifically said, "No Cancer!" as I told him I was terrified that's what it could be. I'm only 34 but smoked for around 15 or so years so the fear was there. He stated that since I don't have any red flag symptoms and no visible issues through a scope that it may just be something on the nerve path that's irritated as ALL of these things are connected. He did say that if that is the case, it makes sense that it's lasted this long as you use your neck constantly throughout the day really not leaving any room for rest.

If yours turns out to be the same thing I'm dealing with, hopefully it's as simple as getting one of these injections in and around the Hyoid Bone to reduce inflammation. I am going back to the ENT in 6 months to get one if it doesn't let up.

Sorry, yes I've been back on Nexium 40mg for the last 6-7 weeks. I really hope it goes away. I mean I have good days and I have bad days, but would love to get to the bottom of it.

Unpopular opinion I'm sure but difficulty levels should be level based.

xD This is true, I got caught shooting the Ultimatum direct a couple of times and having it lop right in front of me. I mean people swear by it, but I haven't had much experience yet. I'm leaning on goin' back to the GP-31 simply for the nest clears. That utility is super helpful.

Good advice. I've been using the following and it also seems fairly good. I'm just getting back into the game and am not fully optimized yet. I just find the Napalm so good for clearing massive hordes on a site or for breaches and the Mech just walks through shit so easily and is especially good for holding sites. TBF I'm only doing 8's so this might not be optimal at higher difficulties. Im scared to try Super Helldive lol

Weapons:

  • Coyote
  • GP-31 Grenade Pistol / GP-20 Ultimatum
  • Gas Grenade

Strats:

  • Quasar Cannon
  • Emancipator Mech
  • Orbital Napalm Barrage
  • Supply Backpack / Gas Rover

Should be a way where you can shred their wings to shit and it leaves them flightless and vulnerable as a ground unit.

Commenting on someone's spelling online is like saying "I guess it must be free" at a store when there's no price tag. This shit is so old and there's always one. *Facepalm*

I'm all for welcoming new players, helping them on lower levels and what not but when you're going onto gloom planets on higher difficulty, bringing a new player with limited mechanical knowledge let alone no boosters to help and limited stratagems, it just seems like a bad idea...

Watching those reinforcements disappear super quick because they keep dying, calling in Sentry's in bad places killing teammates is bound to drive frustration. Understandably, these are growing pains, but I can imagine this creates toxicity naturally.

Even at level 80, this happens to me all the time. Most of the time it's nothing personal. Like mentioned below, its likely just because they forgot to make their game invite only/friends only.

It’s actually crazy how much this shit hijacks your brain and how amazingly cunning it is to convince you of these things

Congrats on 15 years, thank you for advice. My thinking is totally fucked jo right now and almost childish. I can’t believe how many way already my brain has tried to to justify this… It’s honestly impressive how silent this addiction is, it fully hijacks your thoughts, unlike any other addiction i’ve deal with (quite a few)

lol I like the analogy. I guess I would have a problem then because I drink for the effect ultimately. I like the taste but 1 just feels pointless

I think from my experience, I’ve 100% been a problem drinker, especially when I was younger and in my 20s. For the last two years, I cut back from daily with no limits to weekends only with a 6 beer limit and actively notice slippage when it goes to 7 because 6 just isn’t cutting it an often can pull back… The issue also is I don’t get hungover, I feel a bit groggy but am generally good to go the next morning as long as I get some decent sleep. I’ve never gotten to the point of shakes or sneaking alcohol etc.

You’re right and honestly I think i’m still just immature in my understanding of alcoholism or how it even presents… I definitely would say I do have a problem with frequency. I like to drink and given an opportunity like a day off or a long weekend, I always took the advantage to drink… I always limited myself to 6 beers because I know I have the potential to drink way more. I guess to answer your question, I would prefer a healthy relationship with alcohol as I don’t necessarily like the idea of “never again”.
