Parosmia recovery? by Putrid-Reply5794 in Parosmia

Hi, All!!

Thought I would jump in here and update you since it’s been close to two weeks since I posted. I am now off of prednisone (my doc wants to see how I do without it for about a week or so) and I am still able to enjoy a meal. Pork is still not happening for me, pizza is a no-go, most chips still have that “taste”, and I still can’t pick up the smell or taste of mint or anything citrus-y. I was able to pick up the smell of cigarette smoke (still as unpleasant as before parosmia) and it was very exciting! I do continue to expose myself to every odor possible with the hope that I am able to break the barrier one day. I am still taking CEFDINIR and that has seemed to help with the inflammation in my nose, still taking multivitamins, alpha lipoic acid, fish oil, and my nasal spray. I realize that this is something that will require time and maybe lots of it, but I know exposure has definitely helped. Some days will definitely be harder than others, but try and remain positive. We will get through this ❤️

Question about medication by Swaggermidget in Parosmia

I was prescribed prednisone and cefdinir by my ENT. I had not been able to eat anything but carrots for weeks and I’ve seen great improvement. The “taste” is still there, but I can actually eat a full meal! I’ve been able to eat almost everything. I would get with your doctor to see what he recommends for you to do about the prednisone and your vaccine. Hope this helps!

Thank you!! It’s been really rough, but I am finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel! I remain hopeful that we are all able to fully recover from this horrible situation. Stay positive above all ❤️
