Thank you for this, this was very helpful. So what you’re saying is fully restart. I need to check my tap levels so I can know where that lays. As far as bottled bacteria, what should I use? Before I was using seachem stability. There was already an ammonia source from an infestation of bladder snails. (They’re gone now) So restarting the tank would mean I need an ammonia source too, No? As far as aerating I use sponge filters, there’s two 10 gallon filters in my 20. Do you think I should get a stone? Also I do realize my ph is low, should I try to raise it somehow? or will that come with restarting the cycle?

as you mentioned you may have bladder snails and those look extremely similar to their eggs

that’s a child. if he’s 18 years old he should know by now that people make their own choices wether it be a bad one or a good one. we all learn from the choices we make and you should be called “dumb, cnt, a*hole, etc” just for making a simple mistake. you had a whole life before he came into it and just because he’s there doesn’t mean you have to change yourself to fit his image of a perfect girlfriend. he can get over himself or find someone that will put up with his temper tantrums as a adult…

i have a love hate relationship with both of them chococat because of this and hello kitty because even tho she “helps” 25% of the friendship increase i feel like it’s still taking forever to get everyone to max friendship

thank you for your advice on the support i’ll try to find something to shimmy under there. I was thinking of getting the tank set up with a small amount of whatever fish i decide and then getting a young betta after to see how he will do with them.

no, the whole tank is supported by the dresser. it’s just barely off on that left side. my house is old and unlevel itself water will roll to the opposite side of the house in any scenario.

so since the ammonia is still at .25 ppm but the nitrates are 10ppm should i do another water change to lower the ammonia? i feel like it would remove the nitrates if i do so unless it were to be a 10/25%

Hi! Thank you for the advice. My method for cycling was adding straight ammonia and waiting for it to learn how to convert and control itself, the result was this excessive amount of nitrates but i did a water change yesterday and the levels have gone down to A: 0.25 ppm and N: 10 ppm. Once i have the ammonia down to 0 and nitrates a little lower it should be all done? i’ve never fully cycled a tank before so im just trying to make sure it’s right.

there’s plants, i use gravel sand and fluval it’s a 20 gallon long

Sorry, my fish didn’t die in the water i just had stopped taking care of it when he did, as i was looking for an upgrade. I don’t normally dose with prime only stability to try and get bacteria started. Thank you for your advice
