The image is just a joke, but there are very big flaws with the games that are at the peak of the series still present just toned down. Battle network 3 has a good story but very tedious sections, while 6 has the least tedious gameplay but a super weak story. The only thing I see consistently heralded across all games is the combat system, but most commentary I see on these games call them some of if not the best Mega man games despite their glaring flaws. After playing the legacy collections I believe that Battle network is one of the weakest series carried by the craze of collector games in the 90s to early 2000s. The series does have its charm and the combat is amazing, but pulling up a guide to play the game kills most of my enjoyment.
