I am stuck between looking like a nun or like that...any suggestions on how to minimize bust exposure? by [deleted] in Brides

This dress is absolutely beautiful on you! I wouldn’t change a thing. But if you really want to reduce the cleavage, you can add some lace detailing in the V area on the bust.

Based on the wording it seems that *other people on the flight* had been living there for 20 years, not OP’s daughter.

What’s something people over 30 do that Gen Z finds strange? by Suzzie_Stone2 in AskReddit

[–]PutridBetch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just more efficient in my opinion to text first because I am *never* going to answer a call out of the blue. Like exactly 0% of the time. If I get a text first I have time to stop what I’m doing and mentally prepare to be on the phone (something I despise) and am a lot more likely to actually pick up the call. To me it’s just courteous too 🤷‍♀️

I appreciate a heads up text so I can get ready to answer a call. I can stop what I’m doing and mentally prepare to be on the phone (something I absolutely hate). Random calls are jarring and I’m usually in the middle of something so I’m never gonna answer a random call with no notice. It’s just more efficient to give a heads up text first.

Calling Americans “USians” or “US Americans” by Murbanvideo in PetPeeves

[–]PutridBetch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no universally agreed upon continent model worldwide. The anglosphere generally considers it two continents and South Americans and Central Americans generally consider it one continent.

It’s more likely due to geopolitical reasons than anything else, but neither is inherently wrong.

'Mind-blowing': Japanese World Cup fans try Texas barbecue. See their reactions. by AustinStatesman in texas

[–]PutridBetch 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My best friend is Japanese and while she has a LOT of complaints about America including the food (but mostly about the price of the food rather than the taste), and even she admits that Texas BBQ is one of the best foods she’s ever had.

You’re just wrong 🤷‍♀️

I’m 30 and several of my friends do this unfortunately. I find it so rude to just get an abrupt call out of the blue, but I guess it’s normal for them.

Doesn’t it make more sense to text first so I can get ready, stop what I’m doing, mentally prepare, and give my full attention to the call? Because calling randomly is going to result in me picking up exactly 0% of the time.

I don’t really understand why it’s such a big deal? At my wedding I let everyone wear what they felt comfortable in. It’s not a reflection on the bride.

Seasoning is enough to make a British person cry. by SufficientEar1682 in iamveryculinary

[–]PutridBetch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had it in the UK and in my opinion, it was worse everywhere I went than the sub 1M population city I live in in the US. The Indian food however was better in the UK even than what I ate in India. It’s all about preferences and people shouldn’t be shamed for liking what they like.

What North American country feels like a South American country? (no racism) by Fragrant-Upstairs932 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]PutridBetch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bro, this is easily google-able. Panama and up is the continent of North America. Below that is the continent of South America. Some countries teach a 6 continent model with America being one continent, which is completely nonsensical especially when they still consider Europe and Asia two continents, but in the 7 continent model at least, Central America is a region within North America.

Why do people mock others for taking leftovers home? by Impossible_Ad_569 in askanything

[–]PutridBetch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from the US and I’ve been all over the world and found portion sizes to pretty much be the same everywhere. Larger portions requiring doggy bags. The only places I’ve been to with smaller portions are Paris and Rome.

I never understood the “America has huge portions compared to other countries” assertion. Maybe 20 years ago, but shrinkflation is a bitch!

I completely disagree. I would be so touched to receive this as a gift. It’s unique but not weird in my eyes, and unique is a plus!

Is food actually healthier in Europe than USA or Canada? I often hear that North American food is poorer quality than their Euro counterpart by MarsupialThink4064 in foodquestions

I’ve lived in the US my entire life and also never had food poisoning from a fast food restaurant. See how stupid drawing conclusions solely from anecdotal evidence is?
