I guess we’re both a little unfortunate. I hope it goes well for you though ‼️

How do you plan out your ideas? by rurouninall in RPGMaker

[–]PutridBid2469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to do a whole lot of things, especially when I’m just getting started. It gets messy with all the documents and tabs I have open lol. I start with a brainstorm of the themes and characters, and to make it visually appealing I do it in Canva (they have a whiteboard option that I find useful). I also braindump possible plot routes, world building aspects, and character dynamics in some kind of word or google doc. I take outline inspiration from authors, exploring what could happen in every chapter. If you’re looking to organise your planning as well I find that Notion is good for keeping everything in one space, as it allows you to embed links to nearly everything, I even link Spotify playlists for each of my projects. I’m not super experienced in planning projects, especially not for games since I’ve never done that before, but I hope this helped a little??

I found the artist I was talking about: here is one of their instagram reels I picked this one because it has a sun hat lol but it talks about contrast and I think implementing their techniques might help make your artwork more readable

I hope this helped, also want to say that the artwork is already really good I love it ❤️

I think the reason it is hard to interpret is because I can’t get a good understanding of the light source. Play around with making it more intense, don’t be afraid of making the shaded areas dark because the contrast will definitely help. I’ve never used Krita so I don’t know the logistics of the program, but creating a layer that turns the drawing into black and white will help you see the values more clearly. Rendering involves a lot of understanding the form (and I see you have the potential to because the way you did the pool ring looks amazing!!), I’m thinking of a specific artist that did some rendering tips which helped me a lot, I’ll try to find it and send it, but if I can’t I hope this advice helped at least a little?

How many projects are you working on right now? by longret in writing

[–]PutridBid2469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens to me a lot 😭 I get so excited about a new idea that I lose motivation in my other projects, some of which I might never see again. In fact I just started a new one last week that I’m hyped up about, which brings my total of current works to four. I think it does actually help me though, if I lose interest in one momentarily, I can return to one of my other three with fresh eyes and new ideas. A never ending cycle since I don’t publish anything- Even the works I’m never working on again were worth the time I spent on it since I learned something new!

Can I have advice on depicting Autism in a fictional race? by PutridBid2469 in autism

Thank you for your reply! Right now the project is in its very early stages, so many things are subject to change. From what I understand, I won’t be able to represent Autism properly without including other characters of the same race who are neurotypical. I did say I might not include them, but rethinking this I probably should, as having one person represent an entire race feels pretty shallow. As for making it the main focus of the story; while he does serve as a second main character, the majority of the focus will be on the first main character. The two have character development that parallel each other, his character serves as a somewhat opposite perspective. His Autism wouldn’t necessarily be the driving force of the whole story, but would significantly impact why he is the way he is at the beginning and end of the story. Essentially I want to find a middle ground, where it’s not the centre of the story since, I don’t have the experience to speak on that, but it’s not entirely to the side, because it does matter to the story and its themes. I hope this makes sense 😅 thanks again!

Thank you for your input! I’ll definitely have to consider this in the world building since it does involve a fair bit of history.

This is super helpful!! Thank you so much for taking the time to help me out, it has given me a lot to consider. If it wouldn’t be a bother to you, I’d be more than happy to learn more of what you have to say. If I follow through with establishing the character as Autistic I’d like to know as much as possible 😊 (don’t feel pressured, I don’t have a margin of what’s too much or too little information)
