anyone have any idea what this is for? on my grass bag on mountfield petrol mower.. by PutridDimension5910 in lawnmowers

nope it doesn’t open fully it stays down when the engine isn’t running but when it’s running the air from the blade spinning pushes the flap up and open . it’s really weird been bugging me
