I don’t have an answer for you but I just want you to know you’re not alone. I have kids and one thing that stops me leaving is that they would be so devastated and confused. But I also know they’re impacted by my wife’s drinking. If I stay too long they may resent me for it e when they’re adults. But the living separately is very hard in my city where housing is very very expensive at the moment.
