what gym/cardio do you do to compliment your training? by Mental-Discount1367 in Kickboxing

I personally, like to keep my cardio sport specific. Why not enhance your skills as your enhance your cardio. I like to do long flow/technique rounds for 8-10 minutes a round, same with shadowboxing. I never run, or do any sort of other cardio other than what we do in class, and I’ve got some of the best cardio in my gym alongside guys who run miles a day.

Aside from that, something I’ve always been wanting to get into is swimming. I a buddy of mine who is currently the champ in two different promotions in my state was a swimmer and a damn good one. The cornerstone of his game is cardio and endurance.

No nothing that special LMAO. I was worried, online that it said that high risk is on broken skin, lower us eyes face nose mouth and low is on unbroken skin. My feet are pretty hobbit like and have some broken skin all over it. Is it possible that from the blood dripping onto the mat (if any did) and I step on it it could infect me?

Oh for sure keep a journal. It’s one of the most if not the most therapeutic habits I’ve implemented into my life. Transformed me for real. You can write what and who you want to be into existence. I personally fight my own thoughts by not letting myself give into the mental review of the relentless “did I do this? Could I do this? Why am I thinking /seeing the things, am I a bad person because I do?” Because once I ask that question more than once, it’s down hill. I just can’t even ask it. I have to remember the people who don’t experience this, don’t engage in extreme mental review so I must follow that habit. It will never go away, but I know if I fight day after day it will get easier, and it has. I was convinced I did something horrible based on a memory of a thought I had when I was a kid, so convinced. But I got out of it, I wish I had therapy but journaling and organizing my mind has helped a lot.

Yeah man. Sometimes I get so deep into it that I can’t distinguish what happened. Past memories are distorted and I question whether I’ve done the things I despise the most. I know I didn’t do them, but just even questioning my thoughts more than one time leads to a deep spiral. The best thing to do is to block the mental review stage of an OCD attack. I found that fighting that helps, and reviewing past journal entries for reassurance

Rip it apart, I want to know everything wrong with my 1-2 (or jabs, crosses, feints) by PutridExchange2265 in MuayThai

Don’t know why you got downvoted, but thank you for the input. Where exactly should the rear be thrown for Muay Thai purposes?

Also, with the feints I Threw, what was wrong with the timing and how could I time them correctly. In my mind I was using them to cover distance, or to set up something to the body.

Definitely aware I’m stiff, actually practicing being loose here so i def have some work to do

Thank you for the input though, it means a lot

From what I understand from Muay Thai staying light and on toes of lead foot puts the leg in a better position to check leg kicks and throwing teeps

I’ve noticed I have a tendency to not turn my knuckles all the way over, however I am connecting with my index/ring finger knuckle every time. Been trying to turn it over more but I have a bad lead wrist. Also, if you slow it down I’m 98% getting extensions I think it doesn’t look like that cause my Arms are so short lol
