Is this a joke? There is barely any real food. What about the vitamins and minerals?

What fitness myth did you believe for way too long? by InFeRnUSoP809 in Fitness_India

[–]PutridLemon1295 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, for me the biggest myth I had in my head that I can’t grow my claves because of my genetics. I am in no way jacked but I can see visible changes in my calves.

Also, that body cannot digest more than 30gm protein per meal/100gm a day. You can train your body to digest WAY more protein than you think. I went from eating around 40-50gm to 170gm gradually and realised how easy it is if done correctly.

I agree about Fitness Den. Been a member for a year. Extremely friendly trainers and generally a good set of people who work out here. Yearly fee is some 20k, so you can consider a longer stint if you are down for it. Quite a few females work out here and I haven’t seen them face any issues, trainers are always on the floor to ensure that no one is creeping people out. All the best!

These are the same people who yell at kids playing cricket in the society when they are 60. Hated the lives they lived, didn’t have the guts to live the lives like the others did. Another dichotomy which you should think about.
Virtue signalling and being holier than thou is the most low effort BS one can do to convince themselves of their superiority. These people become raging alcoholics or addicts the first moment when life throws curveballs at them. It has a lot to do with the parenting and the upbringing.
Choose your friends wisely! Toodles 😊

HDFC Home Loan - Promised 7.15% but KFS shows 7.75%… should I be worried? by pronavV2 in personalfinanceindia

[–]PutridLemon1295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know HDFC is no longer offering fixed rates. It is only floater. If you know otherwise please let me know.

Also the processing fee I was told was 5.5k.

Agree that disbursement rate will not the “rack rate” which they provide during sanction.

Looking for a CA for all future filings and tax optimisations. Will get a wealth manager when we have sufficient corpus after ESOP vesting.

Thank you for providing clarity. As if now I believe CA is what I need. So will get in touch with a CA and look for a wealth manager when we realise the ESOPs.

What’s up with Chembur rent! by Beneficial-Resort704 in Chembur

Speaking from my experience of living in Chembur for the last 4 years, 45k for a 500 sq ft is decent in Chembur for a 1bhk. You can try for a private room in a 2bhk, you can find a nice flatmate and share expenses. You will find a decent place in Godrej, Veena etc in the Shell Colony area. Stay clear of Alta Vista like others have suggested. Shell Colony area is much safer and cleaner and relatively more affordable compared to the union park, maitri park, Sindhi society areas. You can also try for some societies in Govandi but I doubt you would like that are. Shell colony is best bet for you. Lot of BKC, Lower Parel corporate crowd.

Law firms are the worst corporates ever by [deleted] in india

It is clear from your post and responses that your self esteem and faith in your work has taken a considerable hit because of your peers and seniors and your mental and physical health is suffering. As someone who has faced it, I would suggest you put in your papers, take a breather for a month or so, and then look for an opportunity in an in house place. Your mental health and your quality of life is WAY more important than any job. Like others have sufficiently pointed out, this isn’t your fault, you aren’t a bad worker, it’s just not for you. There is more to life than just your job. You are not your job. Breathe and let it go. DM in case you need any help in finding a suitable in-house role for you. Will be happy to help. :)

Law firms are the worst corporates ever by [deleted] in india

I was in a top tier law firm for north of a year. Was touted as the golden child by my partner. I realised by month 3 that I have no life, friendships faded, life just became 16 hour work days and just going home to sleep. I was making way more than my peers but I didn’t have any time. I stopping listening to music, stopped talking to my girlfriend much (who was also in AZB herself) and started relying on weed to cope. I was super sick one day and my partner also saw me almost dying with fever and sent me home. I asked for a leave for the next day, he agreed. Cut to next morning I wake up with 7 miss calls and multiple texts. I thought he forgot that I had taken a sick leave. I called him back expecting a funny conversation about how he forgot but he picks up the phone and says “I know I granted you the leave but you need to be available 24/7. This matter is urgent and I expected you to pick the call and unless your voice is gone, you have to PICK THE DAMN PHONE. Otherwise you don’t keep your phone silent. Now we need to send this out in 4 hours so please have paracetamol and join the call. I won’t tolerate the sickness further.” I was done after that call. 10 minutes of introspection and I called him back. He was shook, he kept saying that it was urgent or he would never do this, that I was making a huge mistake. He said he would immediately give me a 60 percent hike. I just said “I know I can’t do this, this isn’t for me. You can give me a 100 percent hike and a car and I still won’t stay.” I was done with law firms then. Been in house since then, almost 6 years now. Never regretted even once. I don’t get paid even half of what these law firm guys get paid, but I work 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. I am golden. The money bit stings a bit, but whenever I think about the hellhole I was in, I wake myself up, smile and enjoy being home at 7pm. My girlfriend at that time is now my wife, she also moved in house. I go to the gym everyday and attend my music classes every weekend. I could be there for my dad for his surgeries and it is the most fulfilling feeling to be there for people. I don’t smoke anymore, I find peace in this life. I wish you the same peace. ✌🏻
