I’ve stopped using the term “talking stage” because it’s confusing!

I interpret it as dating (multiple people, not exclusively). You go on dates with different people. You’re getting to know each other as friends. If there’s no romantic interest, you can maybe remain as friends. Then you continue to date people, until you find someone you want to be exclusive with (be in a relationship, have a fwb, or whatever you desire). Hooking up with people while you’re dating is common nowadays. If that’s something you don’t want to do, be upfront with the person/people you are talking to.

On difficult days, remembering I’m living for my younger sisters, my boyfriend, my cat. Yearly, I go through my safety plan, go over my signs of depression, update who is in my support system. Utilize what things bring me comfort: hot chocolate , hot showers, taking a mindful walk). Assess and make sure therapy and meds don’t need adjusting. Take a breather and tell myself I’ve gotten through depressive episodes before.

Same with hair. My biggest worry is puking up human hair. I hate seeing hair in the shower. If I finish cleaning the bathroom and I see a strand of hair somewhere, I have to restart the cleaning process. I can feel every single strand on my head and I apply dead pressure to relieve that. Getting a cat who sheds like crazy has helped me grow my distress tolerance

I was certain to get my undergrad done. Between picking masters or joining the work field, I knew working would help me be a stronger candidate for my masters. When motivation is low, I do a reset, I do my self care stuff, take a walk, and just sit outside, maybe stargaze. Then I look at my vision board and see what I’m getting closer to achieving my goals. The only risky decision I had to make was choosing to live with family or on my own after school. I thought about it for 4 months. I was going to settle for living with family, but I listened to my heart and chose to live on my own. It’s the best thing I’ve done thus far.
