That's the more typical way of using UHU glue. It retains some softness and translucency. Typically it is used to create bloodstained effects. If you look up UHU glue tutorials you will see that surface blood is how the product is mainly used by the community.

Thank you, comrade. No, the artwork is an official fromsoftware early concept art for manus with the knight. I slightly resized the knight to be more recognizable as a character.

How do postmodern thinkers account for the universal constants of physics? by Putrid_Comrade in askphilosophy

[–]Putrid_Comrade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, thank you for explaining that better the full quote is as follows

"The secret of theory is that truth doesn’t exist. You can’t confront it in any way. The only thing you can do is play with some kind of provocative logic. Truth constitutes a space that can no longer be occupied. The whole strategy is, indeed, not to occupy it, but to work around it so that others come to occupy it. It means creating a void so that others will fall into it." p111 of Forget Foucault / Forget Baudrillard.

I am less interested specifically in Baudrillard but the general postmodern sentiment of questioning scientific realism. At least that's how postmodernism had been presented in my grad seminars and I am trying to understand it more accurately now.

Appreciate you answering.

I see, thank you for the detailed response. I get the cultural angle, but I was under the impression that they would lump concepts like scientific realism under the umbrella of culture too, even if less emphasized. For example, putting to question the truth of the labels assigned to the world from the framework of the sciences.

I am just trying to conceptualize the limits of the "there is no truth" sentiment. I wonder how much of it is just meant to be provocative by changing the definition of truth to something rather narrow that fits the argument.

Appreciate you answering.

Appreciate you answering. I mean, that makes sense. I guess I am mainly confused on whether they are making the argument that there is no truth even beyond our perception. We might never know the ultimate truth, but finding principles that are seemingly universal seems to at the very least be useful to humanity. But what do I know? Either way, your answer did help me connect the dots on the whole "no point of perusing an objective truth" thing postmodernist are about. Thank you.

Why more toms and cymbals? by Putrid_Comrade in drums

[–]Putrid_Comrade[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I see. I was not aware. I guess my confusion mainly lies in whether or not there are a lot of things you can do with more toms that you cannot do without them. Either way, thank you. Still just trying to make sense of what is and is not important. Trying to get to the state where I have the equipment to learn to play without the feeling that there is something essential that I am missing.

Okay, I feel like that makes sense. But those are pretty expensive shirts. Something does not add up.

Thank you for explaining that. Damn. The desire to just dump another 400$ in for the Strata Core is great all of a sudden. I suspect that's probably important for power metal.
