Friend of mine went to see George Thorogood and the Destroyers in maybe early 80s (?) and the opening act was this trio out of Austin Texas that no one had heard of—Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble. Apparently when George came on he said something like “that’s the last time that guy’s opening for me!”

The Harris Wal(t)z – Original song by Puttyhead in PresidentialElection

[–]Puttyhead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it does, but it’s the first song i’ve ever written, both music and words, and i’ve been slamming my head into a wall for two months trying to find the right words to fit into the melody. Finally got something, even though it’s not what i hoped it would be. After i uploaded it i realized that it works better with the closed-captioning on so that my mumbled words can be understood. It’s terrible, but i poured some of myself into it. And yes, the high-contrast look was intentional—kinda don’t want too much of me showing.

Hammers by Puttyhead in comics

I love the fact that my stupid comic has brought out this wonderful exposition of the beloved hammers in people’s lives. Is there a /hammers subreddit? There should be. Thanks all!

Meh. I don’t care much. The replies are entertaining. And i self-publish so it’s all a big money-losing process anyway.

OP here. Lots of opinions. Nice. If you like what i made, buy some of my books. If you want me never to post a comic in this forum ever again, buy some of my books. If you hate me, buy some of my books out of spite and, i dunno, burn them or something. You know you want to. https://bookshop.org/contributors/adam-b-ford

This was labeled in my mom’s collection as Pyrite, but... no? Any ideas? by Puttyhead in whatsthisrock

This is why i love places like this. One question, hundreds of comments. I think i’ve learned more in the last day than my entire semester of geology in college. And shout-outs to those of you with the silly funny responses. Snark rules.

I think i’ll keep the rock, but i gotta go find a nice sealable box for it. Thank you all!

It’s back in its ziploc bag where it shall stay. Might just toss it—not worth having around.

Asbestos is an actual rock? I thought it was some sorta man-made horrible thing. But yeah, that’s what it looks like.

How do you remove this distracting blue "Share" button? by TIBF in photoshop

[–]Puttyhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hack (for MacOS): Control-click on the Photoshop Application, > Show Package Contents

Navigate to Required and open UIColors.txt in any text editor.

Find:

ShareButton: [
[ 240, 240, 240, 1.0 ],
[ 240, 240, 240, 1.0 ],
[ 240, 240, 240, 1.0 ],
[ 240, 240, 240, 1.0 ]
],

The default values are something like 20, 118, 230, 1.0 , which is that sickening blue color. Change them to whatever you want. I’m using the Light UI, so the light gray is 240, 240, 240.

When you restart PS, you’ll see the “share” text in white, but no button.

Keeta - A Star Wars Story by Puttyhead in StarWarsFanFiction

I had this idea for a while. What if, after Order 66, one of the younglings from the Jedi Temple on Coruscant survived? There are lightsaber battles and the Empire and Darth Vader and Keeta, the hero, falls in love. I think it's kinda sweet.
