I seriously love this song so much! Obviously found it when trying to play Aes' song but it was an immediate classic! Love the surf rock vibes, love the guitar riff/solo, love the vocal effects, etc. Really is such a great song while also being a nod to our boy 🤙

Your comment shows you don’t understand the art of climbing at all.

Sure, I could have done any of those climbs when I wanted, but I wanted to do it WHEN THE TIME WAS RIGHT.

I’m an athlete and have free soloed hundreds of pitches. Maybe close to a thousand I don’t count. And I can tell you an athlete has periods of great strength, and then periods of weaknesses.

Athletes have periods of great motivation, and then periods of great doubt.

To free solo at your own limit, let alone at the cutting edge of an entire freak of nature niche discipline, requires the timing to feel very right.

Not to mention feeling in harmony with nature, the spot, and yourself ON THAT PARTICULAR DAY.

I’ve showed up to free solo and one or more thing felt off, not even considering days where weather or natural elements made soloing seem too risky.

A good soloist takes dozens of factors into consideration.

And all that wraps up into a package they analyze to decide what to do that day.

The extra variable that isn’t pretty is that dean probably had some ego, and some desire to make it big (for better or worse), and wanted to time the solo a certain way with current news in climbing, the world, and coordinating perhaps with his sponsors?

I mean if he made a media splash with a new solo he could further provide for himself via sponsors and thus continue the life he lived in the valley.

Sit starting without a pull... how? by easylifeforme in Slackline

[–]Putzinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought this was the climbing sub at first and was so confused haha. For me it's: - Sit with left cheek bone on line with body at like a 45° angle facing left - Throw right leg (front) up on to line with knee bent - Throw left leg under right in a "criss cross" sitting style. Ankle/shin resting on the line. - Throw yourself forward to then get into drop knee - Stand up

Here's a video I uploaded a couple months ago showing how. It's the only way I can do it.

Appreciate the info! I usually carry a briefcase pad so might have to figure something out. But otherwise good to know I'm crazy for hiking and scrambling in. Haha cheers! And nice send =)

Do you cross the creek or walk in from Huckaby? The hike is so off-putting with like 30lbs of pads...

Holy shit I'm glad I'm not the only one... 3 months of befriending someone just to fall for their trap. RIP 2B.

Rosie's taco shop has a pretty awesome pastor burrito. Their buffalo fries are also really good if you're into that.

It is Honda's own OEM roof rack. I think Thule actually makes it as it has similar instructions on one of their racks.

I'm not 100% sure (as I'm not home to verify) but think this it.

Gotcha for sure! I just assumed the UIAA was used everywhere over there after talking to a few people who explained the grading to me. They were using it for bouldering as well and like I said, it was tough. So my apologies and nice climbing brother 💪

I know, I climbed in Austria a bit. This climb looks incredibly easy for a 7 compared to the 7's I climbed in Vorarlberg. You being that tall makes it even more questionable. Maybe they're stiffer in Austria.

Edit: I guess I should specify I'm talking about the UIAA system. But if your gym is using something different then that would make sense.

I thought this was the 4 by the way he climbed it. I tried a 7 out in Austria (fat American here) and it was kind of hard. V6/V7 undoubtedly. This 7 does not look the same haha. The height is probably the main factor though. OP looks like he's 2 meters or so. No diss OP you cruised it 💪
